Residents on my street (Autumn Drive) left old trash cans out to be picked up for the first three weeks of the new sanitation program, but none of them were picked up. Why? Should we continue setting them out every day?
Thank you for new trash/recycling system. It is convenient. I don't have to carry heavy bins. No sorting needed. I'm grateful!
I would like to know who is responsible for signing off on street repair and construction projects.
Mayo has installed a new post ( pole ) on my property at the corner of Brownridge and Fieldcrest in Hoosier acres. They did extensive digging around the area and were supposed to reseed, since I had my lawn completely reseeded this last fall. This has not been done and there is a muddy mess at the corner. Moreover holes were made at various places on the lawn and these were never filled in. This is a hazard in mowing or just walking on the lawn. If someone catches there foot in the hole it could result in a broken leg or twisted ankle. Mayo or the city would then be responsible. There are little flags all over the lawn, which needs to be mowed. Should I just remove these ?. Is the work completed ? On the pole there is a street lamp to replace the one currently at the corner, but neither is working, which is another hazard. The ditch in the area has also collapsed. The pavement at the gutter/curb/catch basin in front of my home, 1914 Hackberry Rd, has failed and there is a 12"x12" hole at the catch basin. I am surmising that the connection has failed and has washed out under the pavement. Could you have someone check it out for us. Thanks, john

Missing a street sign (name of street(s)) at the corner of Andrews Circle and Coleman Court South. Without street sign, difficult for service personnel (AT&T, Direct TV, Heating and Air, others) to find homes on Coleman Court. Have had to stand outside and wave down personnel looking for our home at 1544 S. Coleman Court.
Road construction project on South Rogers St. Particular address 2018 S. Rogers. My elderly aunt (85 yrs old) lives at the back of this driveway. For the second time this summer I have had to complain about her driveway being inaccessible. We can park on the street to visit, but because of her physical condition she cannot walk to the street to our cars. Last Wednesday concrete was poured, a family member talked to someone on the construction crew and was told it couldn't be driven on until Monday. This is Tuesday and the driveway is still inaccessable! How many days is a person expected to stay in their home because of this? I called the Public Works number earlier this summer, unfortunately I don't recall the date, but it was on a Friday and I asked to speak to the person in charge of this project, I was given Justin Wykoff's voice mail. He never returned my call. I called 339-1444 after normal work hours and they also tried to give me Justin's name but I said he never returned my call and it was urgent that we get this driveway accessible so she could leave her home. I was given the Contractor's phone number, I left a message for him, didn't receive a call back so I called him again around 8:30 that evening and he said he would get it fixed on Saturday. It was fixed by 10:30 Saturday morning. I never heard anything from Justin. I called Justin Wykoff again this afternoon and left a message, I have not received a call back. I went by there this evening at 5:30 and took pictures which I am attaching to show the current state of the driveway. We need to get her out of the house, she's elderly but that doesn't mean she should be trapped in her house. It should be a common courtesy if nothing else for Justin to return my call and at least tell me when we can get in her driveway. Would it be better if I just contact the newspaper next time and let them know that city employees and the contractors the city does business with does not care about our elderly citizens being stuck in their homes for more than 7 days because of this construction project? I'm sure there are other elderly people living in the midst of this construction but their homes may be closer to the street or they may not have someone to complain for them. I'm not sure what can be done to avoid this situation during the remainder of this construction, but I think every option should be considered beforehand for the elderly or handicapped citizens. I would like for Justin Wykoff to call me at the above number and explain to me what the delay is in gettin this driveway open and why he has not returned my calls. He could have at least followed up with me on the first complaint to make sure it was resolved.
