Is there a way that you could lessen the snow mound heights at Bloomington Ferry Road and Lindstrom? It's almost impossible to see around them unless you pull out into the intersection. Someone has already gotten broadsided there--you can see the skid marks and the broken glass. Thank you
Two yellow traffic signs on Covenanter between Nota and Pickwick, across from 2215 are half 'eaten' by a huge hedge. Maybe the hedge can be trimmed. Before long the hedge will also 'eat' half the sidewalk.
a “road work ahead” sign has been on our property for quite awhile and it blocks our view when leaving our driveway to turn onto the street. It is also in the space that we snowplow our snow. We would like it removed as soon as possible. We live at 8735 Penn Ave S, Bloomington, MN 55431 Thank you.
Speeding traffic on East Morningside Drive. Can you do ANYTHING about the speeding traffic on East Morningside Drive?? The posted speed limit is 25mph! I feel like it’s going to take someone being seriously injured before anything is done about it. A lot of residents including myself have had to buy our own yard signs begging people to slow down! I feel our tax dollars should enforce this. Post an officer a few times with a radar and hand out some tickets before it’s too late for gods sake! I’m tired of it! I back my boat in the drive in the summer. I literally have people try to drive around the front of me on the sidewalk once. This is crazy. I’m guess the average speed on the street is 45-50mph. Some I’m sure top 60 mph or faster. Please do something. I live on a slight curve. It’s like taking your life in your hands pulling in. Some moron came around the other day looking at her phone going well over 50 mph I’m sure. Thought I was going to die. I’ve lived in plenty of other towns and work in a different town most everyday. It’s not like this anywhere else. Laws are enforced and people don’t have to beg for help. This is like a highway. Please, help out the Morningside residents.
You have a crosswalk with a planter. The huge sidewalk you are putting in has made the road too narrow. You should make the crosswalk planter small so the road is not too narrow. Will the new, much narrower road meet the width requirements? Seems like this is just going to create accidents and the city is being negligent.
Having problems with speeding still on east morningside. A bit scary with the snow as more folks are walking in the road and kids are out playing. Thank you for anything you all can do.
Hello, My name is Andrew Goodale and I am the manager of the Verizon store on West Third Street in Bloomington. I am writing in regards to the road maintenance and related traffic issues that exist around our store. Maintenance on the Third Street overpass is severely affecting our business and store traffic to the negative. Because Third Street has been reduced to a single eastbound lane in front of our store, customers are not able to access our place of business. Our entrance is consistently blocked off with a line of traffic, and even during the rare times when it is clear, people do not think they can turn into our parking lot because of all the street pylons blocking off our entrance. Further, this same issue also causes traffic to back up on Liberty road which often simultaneously blocks off our rear entrance. This traffic double-whammy is killing our business and noticeably affecting the paychecks of your Bloomington residents that work here. Because there is a Bus Stop right in front of our store, this lane merging is also creating a safety hazard for bystanders and pedestrians in the area, including my employees. Just the other day we witnessed a City Bus hit one of your sawhorse barricades and it got caught underneath the bus. We watched the driver get out, unsuccessfully try to remove the sign, and continue driving with it caught under the bus, dragging it along as they drove on the sidewalk and hopped the curb turning from Third onto Liberty. I would like to be informed what will be done by Bloomington in order to stop stunting our business and creating a safety hazard outside of our store due to construction related traffic signs and patterns. I also need to know when this construction project will be complete, and what is being done to make sure that deadline is met or exceeded.
