STORM DITCH IN FRONT OF HOUSE NEEDS WORK ON IT
SOUTHERN PINES RUNOFF ACROSS YARD AND IN HIS BASEMENT
Mr. Cullers feels that the culvert is undersized causing a drainage problem. The City did work in this area a few months ago. The City installed bars across the culvert causing a backup of water. Mr. Cullers crawl space has flooded.
Rayfield would like to have the drainage ditch along his property dug deeper on the southwest corner of Jordan & Southdowns Drive. He feels that the ditch is too shallow.
Letter rec'd. at CBU concerns storm sewer system along Ruby Lane to Mitchell and Southdowns Avenues. Mr. Rayfield is concerned about the drain connection. Since this project is a Public Works project, this letter was referred to DPW.
The open drainage ditches along the ten hundred block of S. Grant Street is a health/safety issue. The ditch serves no purpose for drainage since they are filled by tenants with tree limbs and are not maintained. The neighborhood would like the ditches filled in as part of the street repair project going on at this time.
Donna called to explain that when it rains water is backing up in her basement. This is something new that has been happening the last 3 times it has rained. There is a lot of sand in this water. Is something blocked?
