Problems with taking the public transit to public govt. offices, such as local housing authorities (issuing Sec 8 HCV vouchers, Public housing subsidies, etc.), Bloomington Township Trustee's office (off W. 17th St.), Trustee Kim Alexander, for receiving fundamental necessities of life.
The North/South alley between 810 W. 7th and 804 W. 7th is being encroached upon by gardens, woodpiles, trees/vegetation and possibly the fence and cinder block garage owned by 810 W 7th St. As a result, the alley traffic is being diverted outside of the alley right of way and onto the private property located at 804 W. 7th. This appears to have been going on for a number of years. As the new owner of 804 W. 7th St., it is my full intention to re-claim the property/property line currently being encroached upon and proceed with renovations. I request that the Street Dept contact the owner of 810 W. 7th and order the encroachments be removed. With the assistance of a surveyor, I have located the NW and SW corner pins delineating the right of way and pounded new T posts just outside of the right of way in those spots and plan to post the entire property line once the encroachments are removed. Were I to reclaim the property line today, the alley would become impassible due to said encroachments. I request your assistance in remedying this situation in a civil and legal manner, as requests to the homeowner of 810 W.7th have fallen upon deaf ears. I request that you keep me in the loop regarding this issue. I would be happy to meet with a representative of the street dept, with survey in hand, to assist in clarifying and remedying this issue, as renovations of 804 W. 7th will begin in a few weeks. Took down street treet and didn't put them back.
Overgrown plants and flowers are blocking the sidewalk in front of 521 W. 4th St.
Mr. Salyers called and expressed concern regarding the intersection of Willis Dr. and Arlington Valley Dr. Apparently, there is only a requirement to stop 3 ways in a 4 way intersection. Mr. Salyers was informed that the City does not maintain this section of street. He was very concerned for safety of citizens, and has been sent Council Meeting Information to possibly contact the council regarding the city.
There has been a bicycle chained to a street sign for 2 years. It is never moved.
The owners of Kilroy's (Bill & Linda Prall) have Rumpke dumpsters blocking a portion of the alley, there is also a backhoe in the alley as well as other trucks. Kathy stated that they would try talking to the owner before "filing" complaint.
Re: Beta Theta Pi House. 30 yd dumpster on east side of house, next street east of Woodlawn (Forest?) - sits in City ROW, is a traffic hazard. They keep changing the size of the dumpster, but its always in the ROW.
American Sunbelt has a dumpster bihind this building that always sits in the alley and not in their own parking lot.
The parking area behind this address has parking blocks lining it. Citizen damaged vehicle trying to turn into north/south alley having to avoid parking blocks. Thinks blocks may be too close to the alley.
