Very large, female tree-of-heaven covered in wintercreeper and in full bloom. Property is owned by IU, address approximately 720 E. Atwater (south side of street about 1/2 block west of Optometry Building.)
This area is in great need of cleanup and weed removal. As one of our major entries to Bloomington, this area makes our city look very dirty (cigarette butts and debris) and unwelcoming.
The sidewalk is blocked on 8th street by the overgrown bushes from Topo's 403
Bushes growing in front of building at 123 South Washington St. are growing over the sidewalk.
1) There is a large amount of debris from lawn clippings, downed branches, and other general sticks and brush overgrowth collecting along the west side of the alley between 1424 S Walnut and 1423 S Monon Drive. The debris and overgrown brush along the west side has become so bad it is destroying and collapsing the fence along my back yard (1423 South Monon Drive) and also has become a nesting area for animals. 2) There is also a lot of loose large gravel chunks in the road and on the sidewalks along the 100-172 West Hillside Drive block, left over from winter ploughing that is dangerous to vehicle tires and threatening to clog the storm drain at the corner of South Monon and West Hillside.
Excessive growth, structure failure, trash, clothing and garbage strewn about. Neighbors on east use as a place to throw their garbage. Been reported several times .
No cut to lawn and increase in insects, snakes, and predator animals coming from yard.
the grass has not been mowed in weeks, at least 10-12 inches high.
Occupants said they don't own home and have no obligation to mow, maintain, upkeep, etc. Verified through GIS/Elevate they are owners of record since 2014. Yard has not been cut in 2020. Can't remember last time trees were trimmed. Debris stacked in front yard. Animals (foxes?) living under back deck. Home looks abandoned and is neighborhood eyesore. This same thing happens every year. Responsible homeowners are being penalized for having irresponsible (lazy?) neighbors.
