John Kovach said, "At this time preliminarily it appears that the city transit bus was pulling out of the station when the victim was struck. She is a deceased. It is a female. Shortly before 10 am on 12/7 bus route 3 bus number 1777 lp 51959 ran a red light at 3rd and Woodlawn. They were at full speed and the opposing traffic had already been turning - 2 cars in front of me - when I had to slam on my breaks in the middle of the intersection. It is unclear that the driver was even aware of the error as myself and others laid on our horns... it seemed almost as if they thought that the far right lane didn't have to obey the light. Many people could have been killed both in cars and the pedestrians in the intersection by this carelessness.
