Black flakes in my water that leave a greasy residue. I last reported this issue on March 16, 2026. The issue is not consistent but seems to pop up randomly which makes it a threat as it is easy not to notice when I am potentially showering with it, washing with it, and even drinking it. Tap water taste like dirt, smells slightly of sewage, and leaves chemical taste and tingle in mouth after drinking. Concerns for the safety of the water and at minimum is not palatable at all.
The water is extremely poor quality, I’ve lived in Bloomington for three years and never once experienced the algae bloom taste this horribly. It’s only worsened, and I genuinely can’t drink the tap water anymore, even after freshly replacing my (secondary, personal) water filter.
The water coming out of all of our taps is a yellowish brown. Is there an issue in our area?
I am the maintenance supervisor of Woodbridge Bloomington Apts. I have had several residents call in about the water quality of the faucets on the cold supply side. They are reporting and yellowish to brownish color in the water and also a foul smell from the water as well. This has been reported as far back as Friday, 9/4/2026. Is there anything that we need to be aware of as far as breaks or anything ?
The water isn't coming out of the tap clear yesterday or today. It looks slightly brown.
Tap water is yellow-green and has remained discolored since at least yesterday.
