Potholes, Other Street Repair
201 E Gilbert DR
- Case Date:

When turning onto Gilbert Drive from Walnut Street, a significant portion of the road (on the south side) has eroded. As cars swerve to avoid the road damage on the way into the neighborhood, they sometimes come face to face with an oncoming vehicle seeking to exit the neighborhood. This is creating a hazard for our residents and visitors. Would it be possible to send a team out to repair this section of Gilbert Drive?
With appreciation,
Jessica Will

Two youngish trees in the tree strip on 4th street, NW corner of 4th ST. and the alley between Grant and Dunn Streets (in front of Korea Restaurant). These two trees have had multiple dead wood branches for some time and dead wood needs to be removed. Now the tree closest to the alley appears to be dying. It looked fine last week, but this week all the leaves are turning brown.

Last year, the section of the sidewalk at Washington and Cottage Grove was replaced, but the workers left a trench in the road that collects water and breeds mosquitos. I couldn't help but notice when similar work was done this summer on 10th street and a layer of pavement was laid alongside the sidewalk to fill the trench there. Probably just an oversight but it'd be nice to get this job completed.

The alley that runs between 800 North Grant Street and 415 East 11th Street (connecting East 11th and East 12th streets) is full of potholes and bumps, especially as it gets closer to 11th St.
Many of us who live in these buildings have to drive through this alley every day in order to access the parking for our buildings. I know that the condition of this alley has been damaging to the suspension of my car, and I am sure I am not alone in this.
I'm sure I speak for many when I say that we would greatly appreciate it if this alleyway were to be re-paved, or at least have some of the deeper potholes and bumps filled in and smoothed out.
Thank you for your time,
Tyler Davis

After all the utilities repair that's been going on in our neighborhood, our streets were completely ripped up. The city has since started patching the roads, but they've done a pretty slapdash job of it. The new paving is very uneven and there are gaps and places where it's easy to lose your footing. I've already tripped at least once in the last few days when I've been out walking my dog. I'm a young, able-bodied person so I'm sure you can see how it could pose a risk to the other residents in the neighborhood who might be older or less steady on their feet. I hope this patching effort is a temporary fix and not the final product, because that would be unacceptable. I would love to hear back about this issue and whether or not this is a temporary fix. I hope the roads in our neighborhood can be completely repaved when this water utilities project is fully completed.

need an accurate street sign on both ends of East Park Lane. The present sign is: "park lane". This will confuse fire trucks and ambulances. I have already experienced this. Apparently there are other Park Lanes in the City so we must distinguish East from the rest.
