Last year, the section of the sidewalk at Washington and Cottage Grove was replaced, but the workers left a trench in the road that collects water and breeds mosquitos. I couldn't help but notice when similar work was done this summer on 10th street and a layer of pavement was laid alongside the sidewalk to fill the trench there. Probably just an oversight but it'd be nice to get this job completed.
Two youngish trees in the tree strip on 4th street, NW corner of 4th ST. and the alley between Grant and Dunn Streets (in front of Korea Restaurant). These two trees have had multiple dead wood branches for some time and dead wood needs to be removed. Now the tree closest to the alley appears to be dying. It looked fine last week, but this week all the leaves are turning brown.
There is a 2 by 1 foot pothole that was intentionally dug in the alley that runs behind the property.So the pothole is between the property and the Hutton Honors College. Don't know if the city or party that dug it was looking for pipes or what, but the hole has been there for almost two weeks unfilled. There are 6 parking spots all in a row behind the property. The pothole is dug in such a way that it is directly behind a parking spot making the spot unusable. Also, when the pothole was initially dug there was already a car in the parking spot. The pothole was dug directly behind the tires of the car making it impossible to avoid when the car backed out. May want to instruct crews or whichever party was responsible not to do that. When does the city intend on finishing this section of road? Ever since the bridge was completed it doesn't look like any work has been done at all to finish this one bit of road at all, and it's been months! East-West traffic is already a nightmare for this county because of the construction on I-69, Second, and Third Street, and yet the one route that can really act as a good alternate route to help alleviate some of that traffic is hampered by this abandoned project. While the detours tell people to go down towards 11th Street, we all know that way too many people are cutting through the neighborhood where there are plenty of children trying to play outside. This is nothing but ridiculous!
There is a dip in the road near this location and a pot hole has developed. The surface of the road needs to be raised to prevent the pot hole from reappering. It was fixed last year but is back again.
While we do have a pothole at the edge of our driveway that extends into the culdesac and city street one which we live, I'm reporting here a request to extend the curb in the culdesac to the area in front of our house. I have sent in a few requests over the years to the City of Bloomington to get the curb extended and have never heard back. We regularly have folks parking in our yard (probably inadvertently), causing further erosion issues in our yard. Thank you.
