Street has a lot of gravel and other debris. Please send a street cleaner. Residents will need to be notified so that they can park elsewhere. This is from Hillsdale Dr. to Overhill Dr. on E 5th Street.
The intersection at Covenanter Drive and College Mall Road has a lot of gravel on it right now, mainly from what I saw on the east side of the intersection, in the lane of travel and crosswalk on Covenanter east of the lanes of College Mall. This spot is covered in sand and gravel after most rain storms it seems. I report this as a hazard for cyclists frequently. It also creates a hazard for vehicles not getting traction. The first issue is this needs cleaned up now, but the bigger issue is looking into the root cause and maybe there is a way to divert some water flow or clean up some gravel pit nearby to prevent this from being an ongoing issue? Re: street cleaning Good afternoon, I've noticed our neighborhood has not enjoyed the annual visit by the city's street sweeping/cleaning machines. As sand, grit, and debris continue to accumulate along the curbs, I wonder if Bloomington still uses the street sweepers, as this debris seems to be a common eyesore throughout various city locations. Please see if the street sweeper can clean up all the gravel and debris in the southeast corner of the intersection. It's supposed to be for bikes to use and get to the beacon to press the button but there is tons of dirt and gravel that have washed down and make it hazardous for cyclists. It's also a mess to walk through if you are on foot. Thank you!
W Allen St between the B-Line and Walnut is very full of broken glass. I cannot ride my bike through here anymore without running over it. I know there's always going to be some amount due to the nature of the neighboring business, but it's particularly bad lately. I am hoping this can be cleaned up so this part of the greenway is more usable.
