(RE) I live in Hoosier Court Apartments and my window faces the apartment complex across the street. I have seen tenants of the apartment on the bottom level throw their dogs out of the window to use the bathroom, rather than taking them outside. They will dump the dog, and then scream at them to hurry up. If the dog is just sitting there, they get pretty violent. They will scream some more. If a dog is not listening, the husband/dad will come out and smack the dog. All of them yell viciously at these animals. I’ve seen five different dogs be thrown out the window. I also have seen a cat. On top of them screaming and hitting their dogs, it is worrisome that they can’t even take the effort to take the dogs outside, so it is doubtful they are taking much care of them at all. It is the first floor, 1st and 2nd apartment from the right in the photo (it’s a dual unit). I have acquired a video and can attempt to get an address tomorrow. There's a very aggressive red-winged blackbird along the trail at Miller-Showers Park across from the Pepsi trucks and First Insurance Group. This is the third year in a row that such a bird has disrupted this part of the trail. I saw a red-winged blackbird attack other folks as well at this same place last year. I'm not sure if there's anything that can be done, but I wanted to make sure the Parks Department was aware in case there is.

This evening, 6/22/20, approximately 7:30pm, my wife, 9 yr old aughter and I were walking on the streets in our neighborhood (Grandview), when an off leash pit bull charged and tried to attack our 10 month old English Springer. The pit bull was , again, off leash and it’s owner did not have any control of this animal. Somehow, the pit bull kept narrowly missing in its attack of our puppy but knocked me down during the melee. This could have had bad outcomes. Our other dog, a 4-yr old female Springer, was also walking with us, not to mention my daughter and wife. I and my family were quite shaken up. I’d like Animal Control to talk to the pit bull owner. Their address is 3620 E Grandview Dr, Bloomington 47408. Being attacked on the street is dangerous. That dog should not be off leash and able to charge at people and their dogs on public streets. We have an older population in our neighborhood. Only by grace did my dogs and family not get hurt.

Found an animal carcass in the yard. Not sure what to do about it, is this something that animal control will collect? It is a small mammal such as a groundhog, it has already been partially eaten by other animals. Sorry!

This morning, I was attacked by a dog at 3101 N Kingsley Dr, Bloomington, IN 47404. The property owner left the dog in the front yard unattended while he was inside the home. I hollered for the owner when I saw the unrestrained dog coming toward me. The owner came out of the house through the front door and went towards his dog as it approached me. His dog attacked me in the road before the owner was able to restrain him and put the animal back in the home. Last week, my daughter was attacked by the same animal at the same location. I was not present when she was attacked but she described a similar situation of the dog being unattended outdoors and the owner was nowhere to be found. I would like to formally file a complaint about this pet owner and request an animal control officer communicate with him about his rights and responsibilities, as well as consequences for not abiding the rules.

Woman living in an RV in the back yard is operating an open air cat kennel without a permit. She also provides food, water or shelter to a colony of feral cats without being registered with the City of Bloomington Animal Care and Control Department or its designee. There are 3 walk in cages housing cats in the back yard. I have a video illustrating this if you will contact me I can share it. I am an Environmental Health Specialist with the Monroe County Health Department.
