At the Ferguson Dog Park there is a large puddle the size of a large bathtub located near the shade shelter. At the moment it is full of green water, after a week or so it becomes a mud wallow with mud the consistency of glue. This feature never dries out and remains a continuing dog magnet. Even with the hose it is not easy to clean them up after they roll in it. A pickup load of gravel or wood chips would be greatly appreciated by many dog owners. Thanks(it is a great park for the dogs!)

To whom it may concern:
I was dismayed to read in this morning's hotline that roundup is used in our parks and around our trails. Yes, this is the roundup civilians can buy in stores; however, that does not mean it is safe. I thought Bloomington was a progressive place on the cutting edge of environmental concerns - apparently not. Any amount of poison applied to our earth is dangerous to people and animals, among others. And when we have rains, the roundup runs off into our water systems. Look at all of the drains on streets which sport little stickers saying don't put any hazardous materials down the drains. Well, you are.
Let's think about the big picture. What is more important - having a safe environment in which we can be on the grass, drink safe water, etc. or getting rid of a few weeds, which, by the way, are also part of our creation. I know there are invasive weeds, but surely there are safer ways to eradicate them than by spraying them with poison that is hazardous to everything. You say you have professionals applying these poisons - I don't believe that makes the substance any safer.
I hope you will consult various organic farmers and landscapers in the area for advice before applying any more roundup.
Thank you.

Our Toyota Sienna mini-van broke down in Olcott Park this morning (Sunday, September 7). It took us several hours to determine that it is the water pump, and the van isn't worth fixing. We will make arrangements for it to be towed tomorrow morning, but are hoping to avoid a ticket for having it parked there overnight. Hope this is ok! We will also report the stranded vehicle to the police. Sincerely, Emily Nehus & Scott Grieb, 602 E. Maxwell, Bloomington IN 47401

Water fountain issue - Sherwood Oaks Park, by tennis courts:
Would it be possible to get the water fountain pressure adjusted so that the water flow is correct? Right now, the pressure is so low/insufficient, you literally would have to put your mouth over the spigot to get any water out of it.
Thank you!

I really like the dog park at Switchyard, but it could use water for dogs to drink in addition to hosing stations for dogs that get dirty. It is pretty standard for fog parks to have these amenities. Unfortunately, it makes it quite difficult to visit the park without them. The park is really great otherwise, but this small addition would help greatly. Thank you!

Are there plans to turn back on the city park water fountains any time soon? Not having access to drinking water is a real hindrance for runners.

The water fountain is leaking. Water is seeping out around the base of the fixture.
Thank you for addressing the erosion to the north of the steps leading up to the shelter and park. Also, there are multiple areas of erosion around the park. Notable areas are to the east of the shelter and to the south of the sidewalk on the south side of the playground structure but there are presumably other bare areas prone to erosion due to their location on a hill or in a high traffic areas. To prevent long term damage to the structure of the park and not having the shelter area turn in to a muddy mess, please address these issues.

Could we possibly get a water spigot, hose, and some plastic kiddie pools inside the fenced areas of the dog park? I belong to Karst Dog Park and those are so so valuable in these hot months.
