There are two very large and deep muddy puddles in the large dog park area at Switchyard. One is located by the large tree in the center of the park, and the other is located by the sitting area under the green awning. My dog recently got into the muddy water, ate and drank it, and became severely sick for several days. After speaking with several dog owners at the park, this has happened with their dogs too, so it is definitely a health hazard. It is very difficult to keep the dogs away from these areas. This does not seem to be a problem just after rainfall, but most of the time. I ask that they be filled with gravel or fenced off to allow for regrowth and to keep dogs away in the meantime. While weed wrangling today (Asian Bittersweet/Japanese Stiltgrass/Multi-Flora Rose), we found this Beech Tree down on one of the paths in Winslow Woods. It is on the left fork of the path closest to the community garden. We removed enough of the limbs and brush from the fallen tree for visitors to use the path. We do not know city protocol for mitigation/removal of fallen trees in greenspaces, so we left the balance of the removal for the city. Thank you.
A large group of my friends and I have red, painful chemical burns from the grass. I can still see imprints of individual blades of grass on my legs after 4 days. The chemicals used are far too strong and this is unacceptable for a public park where children play.
Winslow batting cages not ready for practice. It’s prime practice time and kids can’t get in the practice they need. Please help!
Homeless blocking bench in front of Seminary park
This signpost with info, I think, about the dino bench, has been in this vandalized state for months, maybe a year or more. I would suggest fixing it. If the risk of vandalism makes that not worth doing, maybe remove the whole things. Thanks!
Request for bike racks on either the east or west side of the splash pad restroom building. Our run club meets here and the nearest bike racks are next to the playground south of here. We have a decent number of cyclists during the summer who would all use these racks during our runs on Mondays/Wednesdays. I bike year round and so this would be a great quality of life upgrade for me personally as well. Thanks for the consideration!
Two abandoned backpack in Bryan Park across the feeder stream from the backetball courts. Since at least Friday at 8 AM. Not moved till this morning. I reported to police dispatch Sunday morning. Maybe the officers zipped one open and decided to leave them?
