This hole at Bryan Park is not so obvious and ir's therefore more likely someone might step in it and fall, twist an ankle, etc. So it would be good to fill it in. Gravel first, then dirt?
Hi, First, thank you for removing the leaves from Park Ridge Park, the excellent park in the Park Ridge neighborhood, in April. Now, it seems like it is in need of a little bit of post-winter care. The areas where the leaves laid overwinter have become bare (see the picture). This is a spot that the Parks Department has worked hard trying to recover before and I suppose it is time work on it again. There are also other bare spots in the park where leaves had laid over winter (by the shelter - to the east) and for some unknown reason to the south of the swings. Could these areas please be addressed with grass seed and straw to make sure that park stays maintainable, that the structures don't end being compromised by erosion, and to make the park less of a mess after a rain? Also, the mulch covering the area underneath the playground structure may need refilled, in particular underneath the swings. Finally, is there a regular schedule under which these aspects of the park(s) get addressed? I am sure there are priorities and limited resources. We do not want to bother the department - if we knew that this maintenance would be done (based on a known schedule), then we would only have the thank yous to include instead of a thank you and a request. Follow up on case #168883 about trees and vines growing up around the Norway spruce on the east side of the park between the tennis courts and the Woodlawn Shelter. I got an email saying that the issue had been resolved. It has not, unless that means it has been reported to the groundskeepers for clean up in the fall. Please clarify. Thanks!
I went to the RCA Park yesterday looking for the pickleball courts that I saw were located here when I searched on line. When I saw this sign I was confused. I didn't see any sign for pickleball so I thought I had the wrong place. I was about ready to leave when I finally noticed the pickleball courts beside the tennis courts. Why not put up a sign up for the pickleball courts to avoid confusion for others. Thank you
Hi, Regarding Park Ridge Park, as the fall leaf season approaches, I want to bring up leave removal at the park. It does seem as though some bare ground did develop at the park this season and I would say that it is due in part to the lack of leaf removal. Neighborhood residents might be able to aid in getting our very shaded and "treed" park cleared. To make the most of that, we would appreciate it if Parks and Rec or some other city agency could help out with coordinating with the leave removal crews to ensure that if we do gather the leaves that they will be picked up. Is that something that the department can help out with? Thanks as always, John
There are leaves in Park Ridge Park again. It is a lot less than last time, but still significant. Sanitation still hasn't done the second round of leaf pick up in the area so there is still a chance to easily remove the leaves (and thus help the park in terms of less erosion and mud production). My leaf blower is broken so I do not anticipate being able to take care of it. If possible, it would be great to have one more round of removal now that all of the leaves are finally down. Thanks!

People who are seemingly from different households continue to use park shelter at Park Ridge Park. Thank you for putting out a sign at the Park Ridge Park basketball court requesting that individuals and families pratice CDC guidelines with respect to maintining a physical distance of at least 6 feet from all non-household members. I feel like a similar sign would be appopriate at the shelter area of Park Ridge Park to remind park goers of their duties to the community to aid in stopping the spread of the novel coronavirus.
