This is a loosestrife. It is highly invasive and I found it growing between the parking lot and the small stream that flows into Jackson Creek, which means that it can spread downstream along the creek.

I noticed that someone planted a large number of small trees in an open space in the park. I think it is fantastic that our city is taking these steps to protect it's soils and watersheds, while developing beautiful green spaces. One if the reasons I moved to Bloomington was this progressive attitude.

Hello there, My name is Yuzhen, and I live in Kensington park. We have been enjoying the Schmalz Farm Park in the neighborhood. My son loved to play in the playground in the park. He is a big kid now, and he likes sport more. So do his friends in the neighborhood! It seems to me that most of the parks in Bloomington have some kind of sports facility (neat!). I wonder if the city has any plan for building sports facility in the Schmalz Farm Park (a basketball court would be lovely, but any kind of sports facility will be great:)). Schmaltz Farm Park Bottom section of slide has big hole sufficient to cause injury.
