CFC vehicle is blocking the entire sidewalk and cannot safely cross kirkwood or to College avenue. No signs posted saying side walk was closed or anything. Just unacceptable as I had to walk into traffic to cross.
What is wrong with the police or resource officers or who ever is suppose to respond to noise complaints??? If you have had 5 plus callers for the same address and then proceed to tell me someone MAY come out its low on our priority list. So the safety and well being of your community is definitely not number one on your list I see. Why have an ordnance if you aren't going to in force it?!
Today I was driving on Walnut Street headed south around 11:30am. A white City pickup truck was stopped in the road with its hazard lights flashing. The City employee was picking up bags of trash and other junk that some careless person had lost on the road, creating a hazard for traffic and cyclists. This City employee should be thanked or rewarded in some way for going above and beyond. I don't know if he was sent there to get this trash. To me, it looked like he was driving along and saw it and decided to stop and do something about it. He was in a white Ford Super Duty pickup with a lift gate on the back. I think it was truck # 936. This was 11:30am on Saturday, June 4, 2022, on Walnut heading south in the area of about W. Allen Street or so. Please, find this City employee and give him a high five, some extra time off, or whatever you can do to thank him for doing a great job.
Grass clippings! Hazard! The southbound lane of Woodlawn along Bryan Park has grass clippings all over the right 1/3 or 1/4 of it. The park got mowed and a city employee left grass in the road. This is a danger to all the cyclists, motorcyclists, and scooter riders. Can we get that mower operator a leaf blower? This happens routinely around the park and on Sheridan and Southdowns in the multi use paths. Very careless and dangerous for the city to leave debris in the road.
Will the Mayor be sending out a notice as to what is happening with the executive order? It's in effect tonight! Many municipal employees even have not heard still, let alone the public. Thank you!
Fix third and Smith. Don't blame the state. It's your city. Talk to them and get it done. This is ridiculous.
The City owns TWO Historic Buildings. The Waldron AND The Banneker. One serves white residents. The other serves Black residents. One is getting a $500k renovation. The other desperately needs roof, HVAC, windows, flooring, masonry and drainage repair. Recover forward should honor ALL residents of Bloomington. Black and white. Invest in The Banneker.
People are acting like the 7 line is done but campus and downtown are only a small section. It's awesome! But we live the east end of town in the Park Ridge area. And it's our understanding the 7 line will go east of campus and connect through us. We are so excited. What is the timeline for this expansion east of campus to make a true east west bikeway? Reliable power should be a staple of good city infrastructure, especially as climate changes. Stop blaming Duke. We should not lose power for hours and hours regularly throughout the year. And the same areas of town. It's not a random storm. It is that certain areas of town routinely lose power in such storms. And it's not rich areas like Elm Heights. A good chunk of Park Ridge East and other areas consistently lose power. Please please address it.
