The home that I rent had a city rental inspection conducted in November. I was home and neither did the inspector inspect everything that is listed on the pre-inspection addendum nor did they speak with me. There are a few issues that I would have pointed out if given the opportunity. Most notably, as listed in HAND's documentation, it states that All required openable windows shall be capable of remaining open on their own hardware. That is not the case in this home and that was not inspected. Can someone please explain to me what the procedure is for inspections? There are other issues as well that I had erroneously assumed would have been inspected since they are on the list of what is required of a rental property to have in good order. These are not issues that are perhaps directly impacting me at the moment but I do feel strongly that the house should be in actual full compliance so as to protect future renters. Property owners who rent their property should be held fully accountable to what the ordinances stipulate. Is it because of COVID that the inspector spent less than five minutes "inspecting" the entire house? Thank you.

With the recent crime in the neighborhood, it would be nice to see regular police patrols in the evenings.

What is the value of creating uReport incidents for scooters? I recently created Case #181916 and got three emails, the first to tell me the case was created and I should contact Bird directly. The second, to tell me that the case is closed and a third saying that Anonymous assigned this case to Anonymous and providing a link to the case.
I also created 181882 over the weekend. Nothing has changed when I follow the link for the case.
I have contacted Bird directly before but typically they then tell me that the case is resolved and I have to explain that the case was closed the instant I created and I was referred to them. And then we go round and round and nothing happens. Can we just an scooters?

Can the city conduct a review of the historic preservation board? There is little to no predictability, and I'm confused what purposes the city has for the group. Who do they represent? They don't seem to favor property owners or take cost into consideration but they also don't seem to favor the public by thinking what would the public want to save. And they don't favor the neighbors (and shouldn't because it shouldn't be just about making folks rich enough to own historic homes richer) as they don't listen to them either? Who do they listen to? And what are they saving for who? There should definitely be protection, I'd just like to know better what their goals are. I don't know if the group functions as intended.

Thank you for the awesome community fireworks display downtown! It brought neighbors out onto our porches and sidewalks to witness the display over our Near Westside neighborhood.
I love the idea of continuing the fireworks display downtown in future years. It makes it so much more of a community event instead of something that happens on the outskirts of town. Chapeau to those who came up with the idea.
