To: John Hamilton Mayor
I hope the Taste of Bloomington was a big success. It was bad news for the laborers who set up the tents. Southside Rental who employed them did not pay them. They had some excuses.
These are folks who really need the money. It reflects badly on the city that those at the lowest level do not get paid promptly.
I hope you will tell Southside that they give the city a bad name. Bloomington is a great city and the Taste of Bloomington has gone on well for many years.
Thanks,

I called the Bloomington police department this evening to report a noise complaint (someone in the apartment complex adjacent to mine is playing incredibly loud rap music). I was told by someone on the phone that the noise ordinance in Bloomington does not start until 11 pm, however, section 14.09.030 states that "Sound that is clearly audible to a person with normal hearing from any place other than the premises from which the source of the sound is located, when the sound occurs between the hours of nine p.m. and seven a.m., is prima facie evidence of a violation of this section." The lady was pleasant, and told me that she would send someone over to look into it, but she was convinced that the city of Bloomington's noise ordinance did not go into affect until 11 pm. Might be worth looking into.

We are having an annual sidewalk sale on July 11th and wanted to get approval to have a food truck parked outside of our store. Just wondering who I would contact to get approval or fill out a request.
Thanks,

Called OOTM and asked to remain anonymous but nature of her comments (and number on caller id) indicated it was Ms. Keene. Went into a long diatribe about her current landlord but didn't have any specifics on what the City should do to alleviate the problem. Said she has contacted the ICLU and will write a letter to the H-T.

Mr. Michael called several times this morning and, at times, was angry and belligerent. He said he is being "discriminated against" because the prosecutor's office will not give him another extention on a speeding ticket. Diane suggested he talk to Barbara McKinney.
