Bird e-bikes are terrible. Solid rubber tires make for a nasty rough ride. No bell to alert nearby pedestrians or cyclists if needed. Frame is so tall that even on its lowest seat setting it’s barely possible to get on it. A smaller adult than I would not be able to ride this bike at all. Lime bikes were far better quality ride. Alas, I’m using my car much more frequently now that the city refused to find a common ground with Lime and Lime e-bikes are gone.

To whom it may concern
Hello, I’m writing to express my concern regarding an incident that happen on
10/16/24. My vehicle had an electrical fire down town on 4th street in front of the India restaurant. I am a single mother of three daughters who I’m struggling to greatly to afford with the cost of food continuing to raise. I work at a CNA during the day while my children are in school but it doesn’t always provide enough. I was doing uber the night of so I could feed my family.
My family is my responsibility and I take that very seriously. After the electrical fire, I had no way of moving the vehicle. The officer on scene gave me permission to leave the vehicle parked until I could get ahold of my insurance company. It was not in the road way, it wasn’t blocking traffic, the restaurant owner was not concerned about it being left there, he told me himself that I could park it in his parking space behind the restaurant. unfortunately it could not be moved without a tow truck. the vehicle was left in a parking place and the officer stated that adjustments could be made due to the Circumstances. The next morning I spoke with insurance and the vehicle was supposed to be picked up. I informed the parking enforcement department that it would be moved. Also explaining that it was not possible for me to pay for a tow at that time.
I understand the inconvenience of the situation and I apologized over and over. The woman I spoke with got nasty with me several times and hung up on me twice while I was trying to explaining to her my situation and how limited I was but I was doing everything I could. I called the insurance company over and over explaining the importance of the vehicle being moved.
The last phone call I got from the parking enforcement woman was the nastiest. She was extremely aggressive and was using her job tittle as a weapon. She told me after this call I will ticket the vehicle every hour until it’s moved and then proceeded to hang up on me yet again. After about the second call I realized the woman’s aggression was progressing so I recorded the last two phone calls for the purpose of bringing her behavior to the attention of anyone above her.
The way that I was treated was uncalled for and more importantly it was cruel. To be ridiculed, threatened and quite frankly bullied should not be accepted and I get the feeling it’s not her first time. I will go as far as I need to if this situation is not handled, because there is no humanity in kicking someone while they are down. I not only was given the ticket but treated with so much disrespect. Her position gives her the power to bully the citizens of this community and someone needed to bring attention to it. She said her name was Jessica and she worked on 10/16/21.

Homeless people are again living in People’s Park.
They’re using drugs, fighting, leaving trash everywhere, screaming and yelling, urinating and defecating and have taken over most of the benches and tables.
It also appears that they are sleeping there overnight.
We bought ice cream across the street and expected to have a nice Sunday afternoon in the park for thirty minutes or so… we tried sitting on the steps of a business on the opposite side of Dunn Street but the shrubbery nearby was probably soaked in urine based on the stench.
We simply left at that point…..
No other Indiana city of the same size and population has a homeless population of 1 % of that of Bloomington and that is directly attributable to the fact that Bloomington attracts these people by virtue of feeding them and enabling them unlike anywhere else in Indiana.
I’ve lived in and near Bloomington since 1974 and this has simply gotten totally out of hand.

Today I was almost killed by a motorist on the 7th St. bike trail. There needs to be signage for the motorists. Too many out of town drivers on a regular basis to think it can be a learned infrastructure!

N Smith and Morningside remains dangerous with many not stopping on N Smith. Yes per Planning signs may be "visible" per the book but doesn't mean people expect and abide by them there - flashers or other item especially to protect bikers crossing at Greenway needed.
Though State intersection, N. Smith and 10th also remains dangerous for turns during heavy traffic.

Blocked Street requests go to Paul Kehrberg, and nothing seems to happen after that. There is a considerable back log here:

The city is digging in the drainage ditch on my property again. They do this from time to time without reason. No one contacts me EVER to say hey we are gonna mess up your yard. I pay someone to trim this area of my yard and after they dig they leave it uneven and hard for someone to take care of. Last time they left a CBU sign up for 4 months and then came back after I called to complain and removed the sign and spread grass seed and straw. It makes my property look like shit.

Thank you for keeping our city and government safe! COVID protocols enacting better safety in the city hall building was a great thing to come out of a hard pandemic. Us constituents appreciate having moved many functions to entirely online and reducing the requirement of having to come downtown to simply pay or drop a paper of. In light of the many many tragedies that keep occurring in public spaces, we feel safer having fewer members of the public be able to freely explore the showers space. An appointment or meeting to get assistance is just such a better alternative than no safety. Thanks for modernizing and accepting the remote and online functions, like the rest of the world!

In regard to the additional % food tax downtown, the admin finally announced they’re going to attempt to do the project but no end in site for the tax. Again, I have heard, read, and seen other complaints that citizens are tired of this tax. In a place that is not NY or Chicago but has the cost of living as such with no pay scale in town keeping individuals on pace with inflation, this tax is impacting locals the most. How do you expect any citizens or employees in this town to afford supporting local business when they cannot afford to eat there? What is the timeline for this tax to expire and officially end? Indiana already had a high enough sales tax compared to other states as it is. Many are seriously concerned with how little care this administration has with cost of living and income differences in this town and county (since many cannot/intentionally do not live within city limits)

Please explain to me why after tons of studies and information at hand globally, this government still does not match the county in work hours. You are supposed to be a major employer, government, and body of change and you still require archaic schedules and work processes. I hope your administration begins to match the county in pay if you’re gonna keep working longer hours. No one in this town can afford to live and you make them work their whole lives away. Not to mention that your “living wage” does not match cost of living. Moving to this area was very eye opening as this administration over the past years has shown they’re not going to progress with modern times, even after tragedies, a pandemic, and rising vivid cases internally. Do better us citizens are expecting council to get it in gear and make this city a key employer.
