@adamwatson. See report 187102. Would like an answer to the question on what the cities plan is with people stealing shopping carts and them being used or abandoned all over town. Thanks

If you can “like” post, 187191 would have thousands of likes!!!!! Along with all the post about the city being passive towards the homeless camps, trash, shopping carts, bike parts, etc… and other issues involving the transient population in town!
What is the City doing at Parcel No. 53-08-16-300-046.000-009? The property address is listed as 3410 S Walnut St, Bloomington, In 47403-4523. There is activity occurring on the south side of the property closer to W. Gordon Pike that involves what sounds like an excavator with a hydraulic jackhammer attachment endlessly breaking rocks. It went on for 6-10 hours Monday and Tuesday this week, and is continuing today. Is this a short term construction project with an end date, or is the City planning to do this in perpetuity for some reason?
Can someone provide an update on the Morningside Greenway installation? We're excited and believe it was intended for spring, but didn't know if a more solid date is now chosen. Workers were walking the street the other day looking at trees.
As much as I appreciate the efforts recently with the taking down and clean up of the homeless encampment, I still have to urge the city to do something about the stolen shopping carts throughout the town. In the video with the major cleaning up the camp you can see several stolen shopping carts. Even pictures of the homeless using them and moving them to their new location is shown. They are all over town from multiple different tax paying merchants. The homeless freely use these carts and abandom them at will without any repercussions. You can see city workers and police officers not even acknowledge them when they are seen (from advice from the city). I hope this changes with the new administration!
the brick dividers on sare road by david lane and north along where hyde park village is are very over grown with weedsw, there never cleaned up. need attention thx
Citizens of Bloomington want it noted now that we disagree with the following new location for the proposed county jail. This will still be a partnership with the City as there is a need for added city services. As seen in Herlad Times: “Commissioners criticized for slow progress on Monroe County Jail solution - By Boris Ladwig, The Herald-Times” This is a rural and mixed urbanized area in the county. Those communities to the northwest feel the same as the previous venture to the southwest of Bloomington. Those neighborhoods are equally as important and the policy makers in the City need to hear that there is dissent and ensure they make it clear that we do not support this. Thank you
Please note dissent of the newly proposed location for the Monroe county jail to the northwest of Bloomington (still Bloomington address). Do not ruin this wonderful community area that has greater potential than a jail complex! This dissent amongst Bloomington citizens and visitors to the area alike needs to be noted to city council members, Bloomington transit, and administration for any future coordination of this County Jail. This would be a failure of community planning to the highest degree!
Thank you City for moving ahead on Morningside calming. So excited and glad you are expediting with construction in mind. Please ignore the curmudgeons. Progress and safety!
I live on Woodburn Ave. An on Wednesday March 20th around 930am the person driving this city vehicle not only was driving way to fast down my street where kids live and play. But while out putting markings down was loudly talking/yelling to himself I assume, but it was foul language that I would not want my child to hear and possibly repeat. I know in my field of work, when you clock in you are representing your place of work. I am shocked that this is the way the city is representing out in the public eye.
