Dear city,
I would like to send sincere appreciation for Hank Duncan of the city Pedestrian and Cycling department.
He is highly creative and a real pleasure to work with - and is a true asset to the city for his willingness to be a partner in city bike safety.
Thank you, Hank - and well done!

Hello what Pride activities does the City have planned for June? Is there a webpage? Thanks!

I tried to use this area to have a quick meeting with colleagues before going to an appointment at a business on the square. This area was unavailable due to the mess. Balloons, needles, beverage cans, etc. (The yoga mat is mine.) Further, these benches are damaged and appear to be unmaintained. I then moved to the corner of the square where no needles were visible. There I was immediately solicited by panhandlers twice. All of this is unacceptable and I hope to see these areas cleaned and maintained on a proper schedule. The frequency with which I am required to defend myself physically against panhandlers here is becoming unbearable. It is unsafe to be downtown in Bloomington, Indiana.

Concerned with east side development being neglected. Lots of housing but collapse of business and retail. Next up no taco bell or kfc. Joellas closed. And we're getting junk storage and car washes. Please put attention into ensuring east side doesn't turn into a low utility housing suburb. Pay attention and actively plan.

Hello, I am writing in support of local urban agriculture. I was very glad to discover GardenQ at 2110 E Covenanter and want to express my support for community based agriculture and education. I recently wrote about strategies for sustainable food policy (“Putting Food in the Driver’s Seat: Aligning food systems policy to advance sustainability, health, and security,” in Frontiers in Sustainable Food Systems, September 2023), and I believe their efforts are forward-facing in making Bloomington a hub and example for urban agriculture. Thank you.

I fully support neighborhood-based urban agriculture. Being able to see, learn about, and easily access food is important to me. I value having GardenQuest as a neighborhood educational hub and GardenQ as a place where I can source nutrient-dense food and plants.

there are now actual homeless people taking advantage of the protests in dunn meadow. being both a student, employee, and resident of bloomington indiana i have understood the allowance of these encampments, but to what point? not only is it endangering that area but it is a potential danger for those protestors.

Hello. Is there anything the City is planning for Pride this month residents can participate in? Perhaps CFRD is organizing something I hope? Thank you! It feels the community is being attacked more than ever so hopefully there are some ways to celebrate our existence in one of the only towns in the State that may do so officially (fingers crossed).

Was closed saying there are no pedestrian walking buttons at the intersection of 3rd and Collage Mall? I walk every day and press the button with no change in the walking status for last couple weeks?

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to bring a concerning incident to your attention.
As a Clinical Case Manager with Centerstone, one of our clients recently disclosed an encounter with a city employee named Charles. According to the client, Charles, who was working after hours but who was not wearing a police uniform, took the client's bottle of whiskey and traded it for a pack of cigarettes.
Unfortunately, this client had to be sent to the Emergency Room later that day due to withdrawal symptoms.
Due to HIPAA regulations, I am unable to disclose the client's identity. Despite potential risks to my position, I felt it was important to share this information with you.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
