DRIVEWAY IS CRACKED AND FALLING ON ONE SIDE
Disappointed that after school programs for her son, age 2 and daughter, age 6, @ the Banneker Center will be discontinued this fall. She spoke with Sherry Franklin, who was very nice and explained the situation -- giving her other possible resources. She now feels unwelcomed in the "community center" and fears programming will be geared only to older children in the future.
Wiring in Cascades South shelter is substandard. The wiring has been torn out by vandals and bare live wires exposed. Feels apparently the city can get around passing inspection -- he also contacted BPD.
Caller is outraged that the program @ the Banneker Center has been eliminated. His child, Rory, cried when he was told the news. Doesn't feel that this was discussed w/user group. Child is in 3rd grade @ Fairview. Father will be contacting his Council rep. Feels this was very irresponsible.
Micky is disappointed with the change in the Banneker Center. She is not against having a teen center, just not on this side out town.
Ms. Haris is concerned with the drug dealing that occurs in her neighborhood and the lack of police involvement in keeping this from becoming a serious problem.
Parking concern at Rogers and 6th Street. People keep parking on the yellow line and it is very hard to pull out onto 6th Street. Donna has called the Police but nothing has been done.
Called to say she is "thrilled" that we are starting the After School programs @ University School. She would like to see us expand the programs and possibly include more programs in the future for all grade levels.
Mr. McGuigan is concerned with the Banneker Center. He thinks that this situation he becoming very racial. He feels that the MAYOR OFFICE SHOULD BE MORE ACTIVE ABOUT THE SITUATION.
