Usually I'm don't usually complain about the police department as you all do amazing work around the city. But this morning had to be the most terrifying thing I've encountered. At about 6:45am I'm getting ready to take my dog out, and whenever I take her out before daylight I'm always aware of my surroundings, as I'm always afraid something is going to happen, and in this city you never know. I open the door to go out and noticed my dog is a little more anxious than usually. An out of the corner of my eye I notice this man in all black coming up from behind my house in my yard, and between my car and the neighbors fence doesn't say one word to me as noted it was dark out. Now at this point being in dark clothing and in my yard, I literally thought I was going to have a panic attack cause i had no idea who it was and hurried my dog back inside. Had literally no idea this dude was a police officer as he didn't say a word to me and on that side of the house you can't see his patrol car. So when I go back in and calm myself down, I look out the window towards the other side of my house and notice his patrol car. I don't mind the police being in my yard for whatever reason but at least they could of done was said something when I walked out. Is this standard for you to be in someones yard and not announce yourself? I dont know cause I'm not a police officer. But it would have been great to know as they literally scared me. Frasier stated that she had talked with Tom Todd last year about this problem. The water runoff from East Side Drive goes across her driveway and pools there. The water has caused potholes to form at the end of her drive. She put up a fence to prevent people from parking in her yard. She wondered if the City would, therefore, fill in the potholes for her. The complaint was never entered in the system. Kimberly Pitcher took the information in on the date above and went out to take a look at

Mr. Flanders called to seek action from the Police Department regarding his alleged assault and battery he received from a woman. He believes several different people are telling lies about him and trying to get him in trouble. He apparently was also told the matter had been turned over to the Prosecutor. I spoke with Elaine Helms on 8/20, she informed me this info would be given to the Police officer in charge of that case.

Another deep rutt has opened up in the alley near my parking area behind my house. This one is almost deep enough to bottom out the car if it is hit at the right angle. I live at 1115 E. 1st St.

City pathway is popular sight for criminal activity such as: drug deals and use (used needles are common on stairs of city path), destruction of public and private property, fighting, littering, public urination and feces, and this year we've had two occurrences of people on the path discharging guns (~1pm last night was the most recent occurrence- see police report). The stairs on the path are unsafe and create a safe haven for criminal activity because the police can not pursue the suspects down the path or stairs. Instead the police have to drive around the block to try and head of the criminals and thus allows them to evade police. My community and the police officers are requesting that these dilapidated stairs and path be removed. They are public menace to our community and Bloomington society as a whole. Please help us protect our community by removing this criminal gateway into our neighborhood. My fellow community members and I will continue to post updates on our problems, interactions with criminal (e.g. death threats) and reporting of criminal activities associated with this path (including photos).
