I was recently connected with someone about this issue but I was not sure how to respond back so I’m submitting another issue. They had asked for the ticket number which is 23204404442. I was not aware of that since I have parked in the city spot before with the pass and did not receive a ticket so I thought it was valid.
I visited downtown Bloomington today and it was my understanding there was free parking at the meters for small business Saturday. The meters were flashing red and was confused if I needed to pay. Screen said nothing about free parking. Just wanted to let someone in the city to be aware.
A vehicle has been incorrectly parked in a handicap spot for days. There is no indication that the vehicle is in need of a handicap spot, and has not move for some time. This is taking away access to other residents.
There is a black Honda Civic parked in a meter parking spot in front of the church that has not moved in over a week. It has accumulated parking tickets on it. Believe this vehicle is abandoned at this time.
The metered street parking in front of the Graduate Hotel on Lincoln Avenue is very confusing. There are meters at these spots, implying that these are public parking spots. However, the Graduate Hotel has put signs indicating these spots are reserved for their valet service. Which one is it? If these are truly public spots, please inform the Gradate Hotel. Today after parking in one of these spots, and depositing money in the meter, one of their staff members indicated that I could not park there.
I want to report officer 303gr for unprofessional conduct. Today (3/10/22), I drove to the Park Mobile parking area near the IU psychology building. I park here most days and never have issues whatsoever. The first time around, I parked my vehicle in a spot that was questionable as to whether it was allowed or not (due to a small portion of my car being in the yellow). I had my passenger get out and ask the parking enforcement officer, who happened to be doing his rounds, if the spot I parked in was okay. He said no because it was near a fire hydrant. Not a problem, I was willing to move. Before my passenger even got back to the car from asking him, he approached me and started asserting that I must move now and that I was illegally parked. I said I knew that because not even 10 seconds ago we asked you if parking here was okay. Then, I moved to a spot across the street and remained in my vehicle with the car running because I was waiting for someone who just got into their car to leave so I could park legally in a place without restrictions. He approached me and said that I had to pay to park here and I explained that I knew that, and would pay as soon as I moved to the spot across the street so I knew what zone I needed to mark on the Park Mobile App. He disregarded what I said, and continued to repeat “you need to pay” over and over again without listening to my reason as to why I hadn’t paid. This entire encounter only lasted about 2 minutes. As I was about to move my car to the spot that had opened up, the officer chose to stand in front of my vehicle, so that I couldn’t move my car, and write me a ticket for parking meter violation. I asked him for his name or badge number and he initially refused. I asked again and learned he was officer 303gr. I have attached a photo to prove that I was in my vehicle at the time of being issued a ticket and to show the officer blocking my car so that I couldn’t drive to a new spot. My Park Mobile account reflects my payment beginning at 9:39 am and the ticket shows it was also issued at 9:39 am. I have no problem paying for a parking ticket if I feel that I did something wrong, but in this case it felt as though the officer was just being rude and the way he conducted himself was very unprofessional. Hello. I have a question regarding parking. I frequent a business across the street from FAR (Fourth and Rogers Center for the Contemporary Arts). The owners of FAR have contacted the owner of the business I frequent and have stated that her customers cannot park in front of the glass garage doors (see the attached photos) as it is private property. Instead, we should use the parking lot in back of the building where the business I frequent is housed (the old Bloomington DMV). However, there are no signs or markers to indicate that this is private property. Sometimes when an event is being held, there will be signs taped to the glass garage doors warning people not to park there. However, most of the time, there are no signs. Is parking allowed here? Can I be towed/ticketed if I park there and there is nothing to indicate that this is private property? I appreciate your clarification on this! Thanks, Sarah

Hello I used a downtown metered parking space on January 9th and have since been charged two additional times to that card. One of those times I was out of state at the time of charge and the other time is today which I haven’t used metered parking. This is very frustrating and seems like an error in your system. Can you please refund me and remove my card from your system? Thank you
When using Butler Park for youth baseball, please remind parents that parking on 9th street is one directional (cars pointing east) and that they cannot park beyond the no parking signage. Doing so occludes the view of the intersection and creates a dangerous traffic scenario. We have lots of foot and bike traffic at 9th and Williams. Had several parents try to skirt the rule this morning and get rather quippy when asked to move their vehicle. We welcome youth baseball on the Near West Side, just ask that parents adhere to the posted signs as to not create a dangerous situation for motorists, pedestrians, or bicyclists. Plenty of parking at the community garden just half a block from the ball field. :)
