Hi There, A chunk of shingles has blown off the bathroom building in Building and Trades Park. It can wait 'till tomorrow...not an emergency! Jaclyn Ray
People have been camping in the shelter houses at 9th St. Park for several weeks, if not months. I've been reluctant to officially report it but over the last week it's become a bit more permanent. And also a bit unruly.
Greetings, I am the new owner of the home at 1002 E Maxwell Lane. I appreciate the fence between my property and the parking lot. The fence could use some maintenance: several of the slats are missing or broken and its has buckled about at its midpoint. Is it possible to request that you consider maintenance of the fence to repair these problems? Thanks very much!
There have been two men camping in the shelter at Winslow Woods park for well over a week. They sleep on the shelter picnic tables at night and stay all day in the shelter, burning wood in the bbq pit. They have been there every day I have gone to the community gardens for the past few weeks. They seem to be storing their belongings in a maroon vehicle that is always there. It is concerning that these individuals have set up camp in the shelter, which effectively keeps anyone else from using it. I thought the city was prohibiting camping in our parks, but this one has been going on for a while now.
This is a follow up on Case #192474 that Tim Street closed last week regarding unhoused individuals using the park shelter at Winslow Woods near the Community Gardens and Community Orchard as a camp. I appreciate that the BPD is aware, but these unhoused individuals continue to live in the shelter. We go to our garden plot at sunrise and they are there, sleeping, so they obviously sleep there overnight. They are there all day, taking over a third of the shelter. They continue to burn smoky, green wood in the grill. There things are spread all over. I’m not aware they harass anyone but it’s uncomfortable. Are you saying it’s okay that they live there? That anyone can basically take over a park building for private use on an ongoing basis? Because that is what they have done. It appears the City has simply ceded the park to these guys. This needs to be addressed in a better way. I feel that others should be free to use the shelter and surrounding area without these men making it feel unsafe.
Hi Parks and Rec, Bloomington is such a great city. During the warmer months, there is always something to do. But for a community with so much family activity, there is surprisingly little to do in the winter. There are only so many times one can enjoy a day at Wonderlab or the public library, fantastic as they both are. Is there any talk of an indoor playground/play center, or family center anytime? The Commons in Columbus, with their indoor playground is fantastic. Is there a place that I
This photo was taken this evening, between rainstorms, from the Stull Street parking lot, looking at the North shelter. I saw one car drive from Stull Street into the park and turn right up the sidewalk. Good luck!
Some kids got into the the barn at Schmalz Farm Park a week or two ago and left a "window" open. Now other people are going in and out. Not sure how many or for what purpose, but we can tell by the movements of a bucket they use as a stool. Mainly kids exploring probably, but who knows.
Mills Pool has recently posted a sign that kids must be at least 15 years old to be at the pool on their own. At the Bryan Park Pool, the age for kids being there solo is 12. Why the difference? This seems to be discriminatory practice based on the neighborhood and who is most likely to use the pool.
