Re: Non-inclusive equipment at Griffy Lake- Hello, I am an avid Kayaker and was excited to learn of Griffy's addition of 6 kayaks. My husband and I had visited several times and enjoyed the canoes (there were never kayaks available) and were glowing with praise for our new favorite lake. (photo attached). My excitement soon turned to bitter disappointment, and at this point I have no desire to return to Griffy. My husband and I rented a car to visit, only to be turned away (after the woman behind the counter looked me up and down) for being too large to ride. The kayaks at Griffy are the smallest size made with the lowest weight limit on the market. This is not inclusive. I urge you to consider adding a larger models that accommodate adult kayakers. This would better serve the community and prevent others from having this embarrassing, expensive, and horribly negative experience. Thank you for your consideration. Andrea McManis

Hi, Is Hilltop still a part of the Bloomingto Parks and Rec. Department? Visited recently and was really surprised to see how far the program has drifted from its original mission as a youth gardening program. With the money provided by Dr. Shalucha and the funds raised for the new gardening house and greenhouses, I feel that the youth gardening program should be the major focus of the garden and not a free family gardening spot. Any way to bring the original Hilltop back? Mary Hursh

Hello. We've been enjoying Ferguson Dog Park with our one-year-old puppy. Thank you! It's a good crowd of dogs (and owners) and, with our tiny yard in Elm Heights, it's been a wonderful place to let Teddy run around. In talking with my many dog-owning/dog-walking/tiny-yard neighbors, we have wondered if it would be possible to have an area of Bryan Park fenced off for dogs. I'm sure cost would be an issue but perhaps Bloomington residents could contribute matching funds? Besides cost, are there other prohibitive restrictions that would make a dog area an impossibility? Thank you for your time. Best, Cate Racek

The website has the junior golf camp fee listed at $160 when trying to register, yet the program guide and the Cascades info online as the fee as $75 city/ $85 outside city. When trying to register, the final fee listed for charge is $160. Which is correct and can this be rectified?

I'd like to invite one of my friends to one of the classes: Utilizing Water in the Landscape, but there is no way to share the course description with him! Ordinarily I would cut and paste the description from a .pdf, but the format the Summer 2013 Program Guide is in doesn't let me do that. I'm not going to send him the whole thing --- that's way too much information. Please let me know if there is some way I can just cut and paste one of the course descriptions. Thanks for your help!

I'm not exactly sure who to get in contact with, but I am the Director of Public Relations for Garden Villa here in Bloomington and in Bedford. I was wanting to speak with someone regarding the senior programs that you offer in the community and be able to offer those to our residents and possibly help grow your services. If someone could please let me know who I can talk to I would appreciate it. My contact information is below. Thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing from someone! Hi, there. Not sure who to send this to, so I'm hoping you can forward it on. First, I recently came across this idea of closing streets (temporarily) to allow kids to play. I think it would be amazing to see something like this in Bloomington. http://www.reading.gov.uk/residents/community-and-living/play-streets/ Secondly, I took my three year old to Touch a Truck this year. What a wonderful event! We had a blast. He has been every year of his life, but this was the first time I was able to go with him. I wanted to give my feedback about the amount of candy at the event. It seems like it was everywhere and several other moms I talked to were really upset about it (especially since a lot of it was hard candy or really chewy stuff that can be a choking hazard for very young children). I think the trucks are the main event and the kids are so excited to see them. Adding candy to the mix just complicates things unnecessarily. Personally, I was really surprised to see the giant colors of fruit drinks (which I assume were donated by Pepsi). It was SO hot outside. I had forgotten our water bottles and really would have loved a drink of cold water. Our kids don't drink fruit drinks, so we just waited until we left and got water bottles elsewhere. But I would hope that Parks & Rec is all about encouraging healthy bodies, right? Maybe Pepsi could bring some water next year. Thanks.
