Erosion of pavement on Clear-Creek trail at the Tapp Road overpass.
Erosion of pavement on Clear-Creek trail at the Tapp Road overpass.
I am the President of the Board of Trustees at Unity of Bloomington. Our parking lot is partially owned by us, and partially City property as the B-Line runs behind our building on S. Rogers & Gordon Pk. (We currently maintain the entire parking lot vis-a-vis snow removal etc.) Recent changes, especially in Switchyard Park, have precipitated a migration of unhoused persons south on the B-Line trail. The UoB parking lot has become a stop-over for derelict vehicles and we're experiencing a significant increase in loitering and trash. The Board of Trustees recognizes that this is an important ministry opportunity, and we are engaged in prayerful consideration of reasonable steps forward. In the meantime, we host a nursery school in our facility and safety is an ongoing concern. My current request is this: 1. Could we receive help from the City to secure a larger trash barrel than the small trail-sized container currently in place near our parking lot (and would it be up to us or the City to tend it)? 2. Could the City help by providing a cigarette butt receptacle for our parking lot? (My husband and I collected more than 100 cigarette butts from the Unity parking lot before services last Sunday) 3. Are there any other recommendations or resources the City might provide in a situation such as this? Thank you for any advice and assistance you can provide, Joanie Spain UoB Board President
Light for parking lot at Church Lane trailhead is blinding to eastbound drivers. Is realignment possible? Thanks!
Fallen tree Rogers street just north of Ellington stables
Trail construction crews blocked up streams with riprap and culverts, destroyed understory growth with mounds of soil left on trail side, and damaged numerous old trees with careless use of equipment
There is about a 6 inch piece of rebar sticking out of the ground alongside the west side of the trail, right by one of the ground lights. It should be removed or cut down. The trail is heavily trafficked and someone could be injured if they trip or catch the edge of the trail right here. Photo attached.
There is a large tree blocking a trail at the bottom of the steps off of Linda way.
Hello! I am a representative of the Bloomington Highlands HOA, and it has been a concern of many neighbors in our neighborhood that people are parking along our streets to access the Clear Creek trail. It is especially problematic at the entrance to our neighborhood along W. Hennessey St. and up S. McDougal St. Could Parks and Rec post signage along the trail and within our neighborhood explaining that parking is permitted at the trail entrance and not within our neighborhood? Thank you for any assistance you can provide. Kind regards - Anna Bragin; Member At Large; Bloomington Highlands HOA
A HUGE THANK YOU!! to the folks who cleared the trail behind Creeks Edge!! It was a serpentine walk most days and now no more ducking and weaving!! THANK YOU!!
We were saddened this morning to find all of this fireworks trash on the Jackson Creek Trail (East Branch). As far as we know, this trail is city property and, per state law, should *not* have been used to set off fireworks. It would seem appropriate to fine the neighborhood resident who illegally used the city's property for fireworks last night. We do hope that those persons involved will also be cleaning up this fireworks trash. Thanks for your kind assistance!
