People walking north along the b line often walk along the left hand side of the bridge ramp to get to the Patterson sidewalk, might it be a good idea to pave this? There is a dirt path formed in the grass here.
Sidewalk on Montclair along Southeast park, as well as the trail running through the park still haven't been cleared of ice and snow. All the surrounding property owners were able to clear their sidewalks in a timely manner. I believe the city is responsible for the sidewalk along the park.
if it is possible to plow this trail for snow removal during hours of operation, i would be most appreciative
So when we have a 5 ft concrete sidewalk WE are responsible to clear it for the kids. As propertty owners. Then the city replaces it with 10 ft of asphalt, assuring us that we are no longer responsible for it. “We will take care of it, Parks and Rec will deal with it in a timely manner”. We get 0.7 inches of snow, the path is icy, and the city is nowhere to be seen. We have to clear the now TEN ft of path ourselves to avoid being sued. FU Hamiltlon! This is is less than an inch!
Pictured above: the view from a bicycle seat as cyclist (on a bike path/sidewalk) approaches the circular loop at the southern end of the Grimes/Patterson parking lot. (Note: the problem I want to highlight is similar when cyclist is heading south towards that "roundabout" from the north on the bike/ped path). And the problem is this: a cyclist can easily not notice until too late that there is no curb cut to allow easy entry to the loop. YES, for safety reasons, the city probably decided NOT to be a curb cut there. Fine. BUT PLEASE, consider a very visible barrier so cyclists can see in advance that they should not proceed forward OR, at least, put some bright yellow paint or striped yellow-black paint on the curb as an attention grabber. Needed on both the south side of the loop and the north side. THANKS!
I routinely walk along S. Highland Ave. just north of the Y and then around the Winslow Sports Complex trail. I've noticed a lot of poison ivy growning very close to the sidewalk and then along the trail on the west side (near Highland) near the batting cages. I hope someone will see to it that this is removed or killed so no pedestrians are at risk. Thanks
Large poison ivy is growing at the entrance to the rails to trails path. Specifically, it is on the fence on the East side/corner of the parking lot, along the sidewalk - growing out, towards the sidewalk. I know what it is (and to avoid it), but not everyone would. Could it be sprayed to kill it? (One time when I think the weed is worse than the poison needed to remove it!) Thank you.
Hello, I am writing to this email address since I've been told that trees between a sidewalk and the street are considered street trees, and are managed by the City Parks Urban Forestry Program. I last year bought a house at 3216 E Winston St.. At that time the two trees to the east of the house between the sidewalk and the street looked unwell, but I thought it might be because the summer before had been exceptionally dry, and I knew the house had been vacant (and so presumably not necessarily well cared for) for some time. However, it's now apparent that one is dead and the other is nearly so. Can you let me know if the city is responsible for these trees? These bricks have been loose and uneven for years. I tripped on them a few days ago, and snapped a pic to remind me to report this. Location: sidewalk along Morton east of Showers bldg, by first large rock sourh of bus shelter.
I'm very excited to see the new High Street multi path finally being developed, however I do have 2 concerns about the project. First, access for our Sycamore Knolls neighborhood into the Jackson Creek Trail has been effectively cut off during construction, and there is really no safe way to bike to the trail with small children unless you ride on High Street. Better consideration should have been given to maintain pedestrian access after removing the existing sidewalk on High Street. Second, it is disappointing that the trail will end at Arden. It would have been nice to see in continue north for another half mile to Marilyn/Covenanter, and connect into the existing Covenanter Greenway. That would have greatly expanding access for the Southeast side of town towards the B-Line trail utilizing this existing greenway.
