End of the cascades sidepath at griffy lake dam parking lot. There is a removable bollard, and when it is removed, this is what is left. It will damage your bicycle if you don't notice it. It's especially scary if you're towing a kid trailer (like I was). It's vicious. The ones in cascades park itself are really bad (a significant bump if you hit them, and its barely wide enough for my trailer to go beside them), but nowhere near as bad as this one at griffy. The ones on the b-line are much better, for cyclists.

Construction on old 37 through cascades park (completely closed between gourley and lower cascades) ruins the only low-stress bike route north of town, offers no detour. When a crucial bike connection like this is out of commission, it is essential to offer a usable alternative, or to preserve a route for cyclists. The alternatives (kinser, walnut, dunn) have high speed traffic and no bike or ped facilities whatsoever.
I realize it's insane that parks is responsible for transportation infra but that's not my choice and I wish you'd take the responsibility seriously. My kids wound up in a bike trailer on #$@! Kinser today just to access park facilities (griffy lake). When old 37 is open, its actually a great route all the way from my house to griffy. Drivers have a ton of alternatives but cyclists are high and dry.
Thanks!

Just north of Moravec Way there was a downed tree branch spanning the width of the trail. I cleared smaller bits that were easy to move and that left one side of the trail open, but the other side contains the heavier, fuller branch.

There is a hazardous sheet metal sculpture of a chicken setting on flat pavement adjacent to the B-Line. It is between Kirkwood Ave and Sixth St. When riding a bicycle on the B-Line here it is easy to veer over onto this adjacent pavement. The chicken's sheet metal wattles hang down so that they can be right in the path of a cyclist's head. Two different cyclists have told me that they have collided with these sheet metal chicken wattles. In both cases their helmets prevented serious injury. One of the cyclists showed me that their helmet was messed up by the collision. Something should be done to eliminate this situation.

This was reported to me by a citizen:
The little steps on the B-line near 1st & Morton. The tops of some of the steps are loose and wobbly.

I have a couple of concerns. One is when they have treated for invasive species on the portion of the trail I walk between Country Club and Gordon, there is nothing other than a sign. There is no indications of what areas have been treated, nothing is blocked off. I'm also concerned about the fact that there isn't a spot to throw away animal poo bags on the trail between Country Club and Gordon. I have seen several abandoned along the trail or the waste not being picked up at all.

Renwick trail is very over grown and narrowed path so that two way traffic is unsafe. Thanks for the pavement patches. Also, graffiti is back on the walls next to and under the tunnel of this trail.
