Can the City go out to make sure the woods all along the entire length of the Rail Trail from Country Club to Gordon Pike are clear of homeless camps? These were all evicted previously and there may be people living on the City property again. This morning there were multiple men screaming and yelling obscenities at each other back in the woods along the trail. This is dangerous for everyone who uses the trail, as it is a secluded, wooded area that has had a ton of safety issues previously. This area has had fights, frequent searches for wanted people who have committed all manner of crimes, weapons have been found in those camps, and there was deemed to be a serious fire hazard. I have smelled some smoke recently, suggesting their may be illegal burning happening again. Do not let this problem continue, as it was already dealt with and needs to be routinely enforced. These encampments are a serious danger.

Side walk and Path not cleared as of noon Thursday 12/4
Side walk along S. Highland and steep path to Winslow Sports complex not cleared. Trail was mostly clear in park.
This area is often overlooked by crew. It is a well used path from the south and bus stop and can quickly turn to black ice in this weather. It is also very narrow along street and often gets buried by plows.

On Saturday, November 22, 2025, during the farmers market this morning, I observed at least 3 different kids on electric motorcycles traveling at a high rate of speed along the B-Line Trail through Switchyard Park. The motorcycles are not e-bikes as they appear to have no crank arms for pedals and the kids are not pedaling. They are racing through the park on the trails with complete disregard for the safety of others. There was also a kid on a gasoline powered motorcycle riding on the B-Line Trail. Can the city police enforce the illegal riding of motorcycles, electric or otherwise, on the trails in town? The use of electric motorcycles on the trails should not be permitted.

Walked through Switchyard again last night for the first time since my last report (11/7)- all the lights were still off, the whole stretch was still pitch black. I finally went through and wrote down the ID for every light that was out along the trails in this stretch. Every light starting at BL51 and ending with BL38 was out, as well as every light starting at SYP117 and ending at SYP108 (so SYP107 and down were on).
I hope this helps you figure it out!

MSI Security guard drove unsafely on the trail. He drove over the yellow line and nearly hit an oncoming trail user. Those security people drive like bullies on the B-line trail.

This is the third time now that I have walked the B-line over the Patterson foot bridge to switch yard and all of the lights along the b-line between the two are out. This has always between the hours of sunset and 10 PM. I just worry it is hazardous because if someone was riding a bike, they could easily come up on someone they don’t see and hit them if either party doesn’t have a light. Of course, ideally people would have lights, but I’ve found they rarely do when walking the B-line especially in the early evening hours. I’m sorry I didn’t get numbers for the lights because there was about 30 in total. I was counting them but forgot about the numbers- the last one I saw that was out was BL 38 in switchyard, but literally every light from that to Patterson was out on both the north and south paths of the b-line. I hope it doesn’t seem like I am being a stickler reporting this multiple times. It’s just so dark in that stretch with no lights and the tree coverage, it feels rather dangerous in terms of potential accidental collisions. Thank you for looking into this matter! I have more pictures and a video too I could email you if that helps any?
