Hello, my name is Agatha Grey. I'm a young 20 something year old woman who in the last couple of months or so found herself living on her own. As one can imagine, because of this I've become very financially conscious as it's only I that now pays my bills. But I am also now experiencing the new freedom of being independent that I never had in the past. I've always cared about the environment, but admittedly never put too much effort into staying green. Having a roommate or living with family members, any attempt I did to either recycle or turn off lights went pretty much unnoticed until I just sort of gave up all together. Now there's no one around to disorganize any plans I have to switch to being more green! Saving energy is big for me, as I said earlier, because of my financial situation, but it's not nearly as costly as I thought it would be to be green in other ways. I learned a lot through your page: http://bloomington.in.gov/documents/viewDocument.php?document_id=7212 It was a great starting point for me as I humored my new interest online. I was wondering if I could help out as well by providing more information to your page. I think this article http://www.bbcleaningservice.com/get-clean-go-green.html would go nicely on your page. It mentions some of the pretty common ways of staying green, but there were things that I never knew, like how fordable solar panels are becoming and all the different types of green cleaning recipes out there. Let me know if you like it enough to post it on your page. I hope you have a great day!

I noticed that the link to our VITA program at http://bloomington.in.gov/vita goes to the Spanish version of our page. Could you please change the target URL to reflect what is written in the text? It's correct there. Thank you!

Looking around for lectures in Bloomington, I found the Lifelong Learning Coalition. The website is way out of date however. Is there another way to access this information?

Hi friends, My name is Amy and I volunteer at a youth center. Recently we have been discussing the importance of fire safety in the children's homes so they can be prepared in case of emergency. Two of the kids, twins Tyler and Ben, had a slight scare when a minor fire broke out in their kitchen last week. Luckily nobody was hurt and there wasn't much damage. The boys did some web searches at home and found this page that they brought in for me to see - http://www.dandalaw.com/resources/fire-safety-before-during-after/. I suggested that they share this with you because it had such great information and I also want to impress upon them that by reaching out and simply asking others, like yourself, things can be accomplished that the kids might not otherwise think they can. Would you please add a link to this resource for them? It would mean a great deal to them and they would be so excited to see that you included it on your page, even if it's only for a little while. I even encouraged the kids that with enough outreach, I would be willing to buy pizza for the entire class! Please let me know if you’d be willing so I can share the exciting news with them! Thank you very much in advance! Amy -- Amy Kiley amy@homeschoolingadventures.com

We cover smartphone security threats and how people can protect themselves. If you are still updating this page - http://bloomington.in.gov/welcome perhaps you could include a mention of our resource? If you have any questions, or if you’d rather not hear from me again then please just hit reply and let me know. All the best, Callum

Hi, I came across your page Lots of great resources listed there! I wanted to share another eco-friendly resource that can benefit the page. Here is an infographic on reclaimed lumber that your audience might find informative: http://www.centennialwoods.com/reclaimed-lumber/. Would you consider sharing this on your page? Alternatively, I'd be happy to send over the infographic with a unique guest post as a new blog post or page for your website. Thanks! Therese Barleta

This morning (1/19/21) our water heater broke and we had to have an emergency water shut off. Our water heater was fixed by 10am and I called to have our water turned back on. I was PROMISED that a technician would be by before 6pm to turn our water back on. No one arrived so I called the office and received a very rude response when I called to check if someone was still coming. I was told we would just have to be serviced the next day, even though I was told I would be serviced on the 19th and never was. This is a true inconvenience and we received an incredibly rude response.

I recently noticed a sign up on the fence of the tennis courts at Sherwood Oaks park, stating they are to be used for tennis only. No exceptions. No soccer, no dogs, no skateboards. Dogs, I understand. If they eliminate on the court- what a mess. Skateboards I understand- they could damage the court surface. But I do not think there is any justification telling my sons they can’t play soccer *tennis* at those courts. My 18 year old has loved playing soccer tennis with his brother or a friend, a couple times a year, since he was about 10 years old. The soccer ball won’t damage the court surface. They are taught by their travel coaches to play soccer tennis as a fun way to improve their ball skills. There is no reason why my family does not have the right to use that court for tennis, just as much a anyone else, provided we are respectful and do not take up too much time (using it for an hour a few times a year I think is very reasonable.). We just happen to use a soccer ball instead of a tennis ball. People with dogs can go to one of the city’s dog parks. People with skateboards can go to one of the city’s skate parks. Where exactly are my son supposed to go to play soccer tennis now? This is a ridiculous exclusion, and can’t be justified.
