I am currently attending the virtual City of Bloomington Board of Park Commissioners meeting via Zoom. I am disappointed by the city’s negligence to make this meeting more accessible for those with hearing barriers. Why don’t ALL virtual city meetings have closed captions and/or live signing?

the vote to remove the homeless camp at Seminary park was, by any moral opinion, disgusting, reprehensible, and downright evil. how dare you sit in your offices and make the decision to leave hundreds of people without any form of shelter, on the streets, at the beginning of winter. i understand an alternative was given night of, but those people are in the position they’re in because the government has proven time and time again that it will fail them when they need the help. you have proven this point to them once again. they had no reason to accept your handout, shame on all of you.

I recently noticed a sign up on the fence of the tennis courts at Sherwood Oaks park, stating they are to be used for tennis only. No exceptions. No soccer, no dogs, no skateboards. Dogs, I understand. If they eliminate on the court- what a mess. Skateboards I understand- they could damage the court surface. But I do not think there is any justification telling my sons they can’t play soccer *tennis* at those courts. My 18 year old has loved playing soccer tennis with his brother or a friend, a couple times a year, since he was about 10 years old. The soccer ball won’t damage the court surface. They are taught by their travel coaches to play soccer tennis as a fun way to improve their ball skills. There is no reason why my family does not have the right to use that court for tennis, just as much a anyone else, provided we are respectful and do not take up too much time (using it for an hour a few times a year I think is very reasonable.). We just happen to use a soccer ball instead of a tennis ball. People with dogs can go to one of the city’s dog parks. People with skateboards can go to one of the city’s skate parks. Where exactly are my son supposed to go to play soccer tennis now? This is a ridiculous exclusion, and can’t be justified.

The B Clear Open Data portal should follow the best practice of referencing source URLs over the HTTPS protocol. For example on this page: https://data.bloomington.in.gov/dataset/bloomington-city-council-districts-gis-data/resource/9b0438ae-fdba-44f3-a14a-b39fd63912d0 The link to the actual resource is not secured. It is served over plaintext `http`: http://bloomington.in.gov/geoserver/publicgis/ows?service=WFS&version=1.1.0&request=GetFeature&typeName=publicgis:CityCouncilDistricts&outputFormat=shape-zip This has practical implications for data users. Esri's ArcGIS Online product only supports loading URLS over 'https', so the current URLs don't work directly with Esri. A test confirmed that the URLs are valid if "http" is simply replaced with "https" in the returned URLs. Hopefully this means that this fix amounts to small configuration change to start referencing the secure versions of the resource URLs. Thanks.

Regarding your change of name of Good Friday in the name of diversity. You seem to think diversity is a one way street, favorable only to non-Christians. You are a fool if you think that your name change will do anything more than make you anathema to, possibly, the majority of your constituents. See what you attain by diversity then!

In the cover photo of the May-August 21 Program Guide, your young athlete is not wearing a helmet. Wrong message to those who use the skate park.

There is a young man riding a motorized dirt bike, at high rates of speed, on the trails in RCA park. The young man stated this is allowed. Is this ok? There are people walking these trails and noise from the dirt bike was extremely loud. Can you please email me and let me know if I should report this to the police if it happens again? Thank you.
