My daughter and I are regularly using the Bryan Park Pool this summer and I am upset at the lack of cleanliness of the pool itself. I had a pool growing up and I understand completely the challenges of keeping a pool clean. But it is OBVIOUS that little to no skimming or use of the pool vacuum is being done. There is constantly dirt in the pool along with leaves and other debris, band aids, live crawdads and yesterday (June 27) and dead mouse. This is clearly pathetic on the Parks and Rec staffs part to keep the pool clean and sanitized. It opens at 11am, staff needs to be there a little early to check the pool thoroughly to make sure it is in proper conditions to use. Stacey D.
Can I recycle plastic bags? I heard that was not allowed any more
To trash pick up service. I have asked now twice if the trash collectors can take a little more careful time and not have our trashcans dumped on their sides. It damages the trashcans as well as our driveway that we spent $1600 to resurface.
Hello - I live up the street from the B-line bridge that crosses over Grimes. What started as one tent has become a full-blown camp, and the conditions have caused me to feel unsafe using that portion of the B-line trail. The last time I used the bridge the urine smell was quite strong and there was a man having a bad trip outside the encampment. We've been awoken by yelling and general disturbance from members of the camp and their dogs, and the general disturbance has caused me and several neighbors with kids to not use that portion of the B-line (not using the Switchyard Park playground and dog park, or driving there instead of walking). It's reached a point that we're uncomfortable - I hope I don't sound unsympathetic to their situation. I don't have a good solution either!
My recycle bin was not picked up. The sticker placed on the bin indicated "You have nonrecyclable items in your bin. I wnet through my bin and took out some Kroger sacks. My neighbor called you folks and you told her that egg cartons are not recyclable even though the lable clearly says it is. I went to your website and printed out things that are legal and what is not. But if you are at odds with the lables I cant read minds. I took out what items i thought might? be illegal but I'll not do that again. If my recycle bin is not picked up again, I'll no longer recycle.
Given that we are all house-bound and many of us are taking advantage of this to begin our spring yard clean up early, could the city move yard waste pick up to one week earlier? We have done so much work that our garage is full of bags and would love to do more, but are limited because we have to wait two weeks for the regularly scheduled April 13 pick up. It would be a great service to the community to have this early start and encourage more of us to get outside which is much healthier than staying in, beautifying our city while following stay-at-home orders. Thank you for your feedback. Janette Fishell 1112 East Atwater Avenue Elm Heights Neighborhood
