Please post an update on the Vernal Pike/Seventeenth Street project. Seventeenth Street was closed in April 2019 and was to be reopened in November 2019. When will the street be opened?
This morning, Monday, Nov 10 just before 9am I was walking up to the intersection of First and Clifton in Bloomington when a city sanitation truck stopped in front of me. The sanitation employee opened the lid on a yard waste can and found trash on top of the debris. (not my house or cans). I witnessed him remove the trash with his hands and throw it on the street, then dump the yard waste in the truck. When he started to leave, I confronted him and asked him to pick it up the trash he had thrown on the ground. There was a trash bin and recycling bin within inches of the yard waste bin. Not only did he refuse, but he called me a fucking bitch and moved very aggressively toward me, screaming excuses of why he did not have pick it up, was entitled to discard it because it was in the wrong can, and called me every vile name he could imagine. I PICKED UP THE TRASH HE THREW IN THE STREET. His actions are completely inappropriate and I hope you will address this. He had blondish hair and was the rider, not driver on the truck. Thank you for the completion of the Sare Rd pedestrian path! Just outstanding! We who live in Hyde Park can now safely cross the street and access the neighborhoods and parks on the west side of the road and connect to Southeast Park! Wonderful!

Please paint the pickle ball lines on the courts at the RCA park. A portable toilet would have been nice these last few weeks. Perhaps converting some of the tennis courts to pickle ball courts as more people are playing the sport now.
uReport Case #174148 The drain was cleared only because they are getting ready to do my leaves. This picture shows where the grass died because of them dumping what was in the great onto the grass 034 weeks ago. I filed that report then I have cleared it twice since cuz we've had two large rains over an inch and a half and two inches in my neighborhood. I find it a fallacy to say that it's been closed because they're coming to sweep up all the leaves and they happen to rake near it. As I said in an earlier you report I want to file a grievance on this case. I've lived here over 20 years and I fought with them to keep these drains clear and they cleaned all five of the other drains and left the one that's used the most full of leaves and then when they do clear it they dump the leaves up on the curb is summer winter anytime and it kills the grass. About the time we get the grass growing again somebody comes around and does it again. It's more than frustrating it's criminal.
Your verification method with the photos is terrible. Using this in a phone it tormented me for 10 minutes before refusing to register my issue. Your system is great but for the verification issue, which seems to have been designed to torment people into not reporting. I assume most people are using their telephones - serving up nine images (including broad streetscapes) and asking if any fire hydrants or bicycles are depicted, is an impossible task without a jewelers’ eyepiece. The UX is broken, as the kids say. Please consider a different method or no method. The fact that this has to be even reported tells me you must have a system designed by teenagers.
I am currently attending the virtual City of Bloomington Board of Park Commissioners meeting via Zoom. I am disappointed by the city’s negligence to make this meeting more accessible for those with hearing barriers. Why don’t ALL virtual city meetings have closed captions and/or live signing?
the vote to remove the homeless camp at Seminary park was, by any moral opinion, disgusting, reprehensible, and downright evil. how dare you sit in your offices and make the decision to leave hundreds of people without any form of shelter, on the streets, at the beginning of winter. i understand an alternative was given night of, but those people are in the position they’re in because the government has proven time and time again that it will fail them when they need the help. you have proven this point to them once again. they had no reason to accept your handout, shame on all of you.
