Flooding frequently when raining or under a storm due to lack of storm drainage on this road
This is in reference to a prior case submission (#913401) - the prior service request was closed and listed as the property owner's responsibility but the case history for the location shows that in 2014 the same issue was submitted by my former neighbor and the city did resolve the issue with the storm drain being blocked. 9/10/2024 10:05:29 Closed by Emily Tate According to CBU records, the ditch at this location is private property, so maintenance is the responsibility of the property owner, or in some cases a neighborhood group/HOA. Thank you. The storm drain continues to stay clogged at 16th and Jackson. We have cleaned it 4 times this year. It. Is a drainage design flaw. Everything washes out and gets clogged .
Dry grate with inches of water around it. At least part of this grate is above grade so there is 2-3 inches of standing water after every rain. The sidewalk and yard get soaked by passing cars and there is usually standing water in the intersection that never drains, just eventually evaporates
The storm drains on both the North and South side of Heather are always full of debris. When it rains, there is very little area for the drainage. Please clear the debris.
Storm drain is failing and needs new housing.
Can you please provide an update on the storm drain repair? the drainage inlet is broken.

called into city hall - K.Cummings, AHA inputting this issue -- John stated that he has called several times regarding this issue - there are two storm drains, one directly in front of his residence and another that is across the street that are in need of repair. John advised that the grates are too low, causing them to consistently get debris on them, causing flooding.
For years there has been a strong sewer smell in the this area. (I have paid for plumbers to examine my house and the problem is not in the house.) As the cable workers have been laying the cable, I asked various if they also smelled the sewer odor and if they knew where it might be coming from. There were three basic answers: (1) A "lift station" in one of the drains may be faulty; (2) the terrain where sewage may back up at the crest of the hill; and (3) the manhole cover between houses at 909 West Gourley Pike is old and may be corroded so that the sewer gas is able to escape.
