Sewer Problems (Storm Sewers)

I checked and cleared storm drains on Sussex and Queensway yesterday afternoon and removed debris, except those two near High St that have filters to prevent construction from the new "trail". This morning with the help of a neighbor cleared the Sussex drains. I then cleared those on Queensway.
The problems of separation of the present layer of pavement on Queensway and knowing there was a potential of heavy rain from the present on later storms today. I piled a significant amount of loose pavement with the debris at the south drains at the intersection of Queens Way and Chelsia Court. incase of heavy rain today.
Also all three of these drains have a significant amount of eroded pavement below the drain's grates. Thus these debris may in the future become plugg the storm drain.that goes down just past Sussex Dr and result in potential stormwater flash flooding as in June of 2007 that damaged my neighbors property.

The asphalt in front of our neighbors house crumbled up and it all floats down to my sewer. I also cleaned the debris from two drains across the street. I don’t mind keeping gutter clean but I never know what to do with all the pieces of asphalt. We used to have an older gentleman that worked for the city that always checked drains but I figured he retired. Thanks for your help.

Storm pipe pushing out alot of water causing it to cave in the ground and sides of the channel. It has been causing the sides to collapse and making the channel wider taking from the land. I placed some rocks to keep the storm water from damaging the channel last year. yet We will need to add some extra rocks to hold it in place since it can't withstand the pressure as shown in the attached image. Please give me a call as soon as you can to review.
Thank you,

This is in regard to claim 176333. I received an email that the claim was closed because the ditch has been cleaned. It has NOT been cleaned as of 10:30 today 7-25.
Sewer Problems (Storm Sewers):
Other: We have cleaned the tops of the grates in front of our building but can not clean the culvert in the ditch, which is clogged with debris. We also have one grate that has erosion barrier under the grate which won't allow water to pass through as it is packed with mud. We were flooded in 2008. We were within a foot of it entering our building early last Saturday morning. Please send someone to address this issue before Friday. We can not survive another flood.

During the evening rainstorm of 7/10/2021, the storm water swale to the north of our home overfilled its banks and flooded our back and side yards. Luckily, the rain stopped before the water breached our basement window well, which happened July 18-19, flooding our basement. The storm pipes below these swales are obviously under-sized. We request a re-assessment of these swales by a storm water engineer to mitigate future flooding and the property damage we have already experienced. We believe repeated high storm water flow during the past several years has caused erosion of the swales and they are no longer able to hold current storm water run-off.

The storm grate in the 300 block of 7th street is broken and the structural integrity of the drain appears to be somewhat compromised. The concreate around the drain is severely damaged. This is a fairly new drain so I'm a bit surprised that it has broken so quickly.

The storm drains on both the North and South side of Heather are always full of debris. When it rains, there is very little area for the drainage. Please clear the debris.

Our outgoing water pipe backed up and flooded our basement. The plumber ran a camera down the drain and believes the pipe has been hit by the fiber cable installer yesterday, July 19. The plumber said the cable installer should fix the problem. Who should I call?

Betsy Smith - 812-327-5472
Ms. Smith called to report that sewer work was done at Jackson/W. Kirkwood. This has caused one of the manhole covers to not be sealed properly and it is constantly rattling. She would like to have someone come out and correct this.
