We have repeatedly asked for a traffic signal at the corner of 14th and Walnut, because of the number of traffic and pedestrian accidents over many years. Neil Kopper, Project Engineer, told us that a traffic light was not going to happen, but he would get a pedestrian crossing, which we thought would come with flashing lights like at the corner of Rogers and 4th Street (a street crossing not in the center of town and with a lot less traffic than the main street, Walnut). However, all that was done was to paint a pedestrian crossing across Walnut at the corner of 14th and Walnut with white posts on the West side of Walnut, cutting into traffic. And, the pedestrian crosswalk was painted at the corner of College and 14th Street with white posts installed on both sides of the street making it extremely hard to make the corners. Especially as CVS's fence blocks the view from the North. Cars have to back up on 14th Street when a car wants to turn East from College. So, the very least the City of Bloomington can do to slow the downhill traffic in this area, without putting in a stop light, is to install some speed limit signs. There are NO speed limit traffic signs from 2nd Street all the way North to 17th Street. Cars drag race in excess of 40 to 60 mph there most every day, because it is downhill, not up hill like College. You have no stop lights from 10th Street to 17th Street. We would like a flashing speed limit sign that tells how fast you are going installed at 14th and Walnut. The type that is installed around schools. And, there is a Monroe County School bus stop at that corner with very young children getting on and off the bus. Also, there is a City bus that stops at the corner of 14th and Walnut. This all creates potential harm to children and bus passengers by the speeding cars. If no action is ever taken at 14th and Walnut, the City is potentially putting themselves into a law suit if someone gets killed or injured there because of the failure of the city to post the speed limit that they are required to go. The city has allowed high rise housing along the corridor of 10th to 17th street on Walnut, and on street parking to support this very high density area. This action, along with the bike lane, has narrowed the road and cars exceeding the speed limit have no way to avoid an accident. Our police department is so busy they do not have the opportunity to patrol this area on a regular basis for speeders. And, since we cannot get a traffic light installed, this request is the very least that can be done to make our city safer in this area.

As a resident on the east side of Bloomington, I often find myself on 10th street because it is a main artery through town. I've always wondered why there isn't a designated left turn lane with a left arrow traffic light to help the traffic flow at the intersection at 10th and Pete Ellis. The designated lanes are as follows. Left turn/Straight and a right turn lane. People who turn left aren't able to do so easily because it's a busy street and people who wait behind them are forced to try to re-enter the traffic flow because other cars decide to use the right turn lane to go straight. Unless I'm mistaken, creating your own lane of traffic is frowned upon, so I'm constantly frustrated by the fact that I sit patiently in the left/straight lane behind a car waiting to turn, and then as I'm entering the intersection, have to watch out (yielding to cars that have decided to go around the situation) to avoid getting sideswiped. Perhaps the city developers could look at this particular problem and re-designate the lanes or use resources to get a new light with a left turn arrow. I can't be the first person to have complained about the safety of this intersection.

Traffic jams on 2nd and 3rd streets. Synchronizing the lights would greatly reduce backed up traffic. A lot of times during rush hours traffic is halted because the lights all seemingly change at different times

The sign on College Mall Rd right before Hillside that says "Right lane must turn right" is totally obscured by foliage. Thanks for your attention to this.

Our children, with 2 adult supervisors have to take a chance by crossing the street to go from the east side of S Highland Avenue to the west side of S Highland to go and enjoy the Winslow Woods park. Please paint a crosswalk on S Highland Avenue leading from YMCA entrance to across the street to the Winslow Wood Park. Will need to erect signage for motorists to see there is a crosswalk. Children and adults could safely cross the street and not fear for their lives.

Near 1100 W Allen St there is a hill that cars come flying down, resulting in accidents with cars, and bicylists trying to exit a parking near the hill. It is a very dangerous situation, that could be made safe through the installation of a speed bump in the east bound lane of W Allen st, near the HIlltop Village Apartments.

Speeding cars on a regular basis on W. Allen street, right in front of the hill by Hilltop Village Apartments. Please put a speed bump, or some sort of speed deterrent. There have been several incidents due to speeding cars in front of Mother Hubbard's Cupboard.

At 1100 W. Allen street there is a hill just west of the drive. People Fly down the hill and there are always accidents coming from the traffic going East and coming from the 1100 W. Allen St. Address. A Buss Stop is also at the hills crest going west. This is proving to be extremely dangerous. Perhaps a speed bump going east would slow traffic as it come down hill

The hill after the stop sign at Adams and Allen needs a speed bump - badly. There are frequently accidents from folks driving over the hill at high speeds, and colliding with individuals trying to exit parking lots and neighborhood side streets.
