1800-1820 North Kinser Pike

In the morning from 7-9 the traffic gets extremely backed up on Kinser Pike coming from the North, the neighborhoods and the school buses from the High School. The left turn signal, to turn on to 45/46, is extremely short, less than 10 seconds I would say, and then it's extremely hard to turn left on green as there are lots of cars coming across the intersection. Is there any way to make this turn signal longer for at least those 2 hours in the morning? Traffic is sometimes backed up all the way to the Skate Park, which is on a curve so that is very dangerous. You round the blind curve and all of a sudden there is stopped traffic. Thank you for your consideration in this matter!

I live on a dead end street (3928 W Geranium Ln) and we have cars come flying down our street thinking they can access the main road. There are children on this street and it is becoming an issue as the neighborhood has increased in size so much the past two years. Please consider installing a "Dead End" sign on this street! Thank you!

The construction on west side of town needs completed! People are moving and shopping elsewhere. I will avoid it, its a joke to spend an hour or more in traffic.

Really need double Yellow line down 10th St between Morton & Rogers. Drivers get confused at the parking lot entrances as to which way 10th St actually goes. With all the new students it is getting worse.

1-21 East Dillman Road

- 10/13/2017
For over 17 years we have lived close to the corner of Dillman and S. Old 37. As I type yet another traffic accident is being cleaned up at this intersection.
It is time to have a 4 way stop put in.
No more rumble strips, or intersection signs or yellow blinking lights, or cutting back the tree/brush line. (well, that does need to happen:-)
This has got to be one of the most dangerous intersections in town. People coming off of 37 drive down old 37 like they are still on the highway. With the amount of houses, buses and children that are living in the area I would have thought that something would have been done by now to fix this problem, which is a serious safety issue to anyone trying to cross the road.
The solution of a four way makes since and would not hurt the pocket book of Bloomington. If it is an inconvenience for people to stop then so be it. This has gone on for far too long and all attempts to do something, in the form of rumble strips, intersection signs, yellow blinking lights etc., by the city/county have just been band aids not real solutions.
Please take my request seriously. Many of us living on the south side have children who are reaching the age where they will be on the roads as young drivers. As an adult with over 20 years of driving experience, I dread approaching this intersection or even pulling out of my own driveway near this intersection. Its a death trap and a game of chance.
Thanks so much for your time.

Nelson Cano

I sent the attached e-mail to the Project Managers for the 494/169 interchange project, but it occurred to me I should send it to the City as well. Many of the traffic circles part of the project (specifically those in the southwest quadrant and possibly others) have earth "hills" in the circle centers which make it difficult to see vehicles already on the circle to which one must yield when entering a circle. I suggest the mounds be leveled and only low-growing landscaping planted in the circle centers to improve sight lines.

2712 S Banta AVE
- Case Date:

The two blocks of S. Banta Ave that connect Tapp Road to Ralston and West Graham have no sidewalks, and many children live in the vicinity (including my own). The Broadview Learning Center's playground a few blocks away is a major draw for the neighborhood children, both in houses and in apartment buildings up and down this road. However, the lack of traffic control on Ralston and the ability to cut up Banta Avenue from Tapp Road during times of the day when the Tapp/Rockport intersection becomes congested due to commuter and other traffic (especially those using it as a means to connect to 37), means that cars race up Banta to speed around the corner and shortcut to Rockport. Since the neighborhood children have no sidewalks here, or on Graham (which is a major route to the only park that is easily accessible), it is incredibly hazardous.
If the city won't oversee the creation of sidewalks on these busy "shortcut" roads, could some signs and speed bumps be put in? Particularly on Banta, which is built on a hill up one side and down the other, irresponsible car traffic makes all the parents (and neighbors) frightened for our children.
Additionally, the triangular corner of Rockport and Graham and Banta has no shoulder trimmed back from the large pine trees there, which not only makes it difficult to see around, but more hazardous for the many bus patrons that get off at the Countryview Apartments, and are forced to cut through the private property on the opposite side of the street, rather than risk being hit by a motorist that can't see them around that corner.
