Excessive speed by most motorists from high street to Sheridan drive. No traffic control measures in place , add speed bumps or a stop sign at Eastside or something . Also many deer in area and not one single deer warning sign.
As a pedestrian, there isn't a safe space to cross. Either a stop sign or a light-up cross walk would be immensely helpful and increase pedestrian safety.
I live in the apartment building on the corner of 2nd and High street. The entrance to its parking lot is from High street, very close to the corner. Any time there's a car stopped at the light the entrance is blocked, and the light is delayed for those cars, so unless you are coming in from the south, you have to wait for those cars to go, blocking traffic behind you, or go around the block. Could it be possible to paint the sign in front of the parking lot entrance that cars should not stop there for the light, but a little further from the entrance, and should not block the entrance to the lot? Crosswalk needs a vertical sign to caution drivers to slow down and respect crosswalk. This is at Hunter and High St.
During peak hours of the day (4-6:00pm), I would like to see a no left-turn sign from east-bound third street onto Rose or Union. In addition, it would be nice to have a no left-turn sign from those roads turning on third street. This area gets very congested during the standard commute to the east side and significant delays are caused by motorist trying to make those turns.
