During construction, there is not a safe way for pedestrians, joggers, wheelchairs, baby strollers and other non-vehicle movement through this blind road. Recommend routing traffic or reducing speeds to allow for people to safely get through this tight spot.
Can the City not require the Indiana Railroad to install some type of flashing light, larger warning sign or something to help prevent this from happening? There has been an increasing amount of trucks hitting this bridge, at least 6 in the past year that I'm aware of.

There is a very dangerous vehicular traffic pattern on S Woodlawn Ave between Sheridan Dr and E Hillside Dr, especially near the Grimes & Woodlawn and Weatherstone & Woodlawn intersections. There is a blind hill on Woodlawn that greatly decreases visibility for everyone. North @ south-bound vehicles on Woodlawn regularly break the speed limit by 20+ MPH and have even seen estimated speeds of 70+ mph. Sometimes vehicles "floor it" on Woodlawn southbound from Sheridan Ln stop sign. The city should consider installing a STOP sign on Woodlawn @ Grimes intersection to decrease the speed of North & South-bound traffic on Woodlawn Ave. The city should also consider additional signage to protect pedestrians who are crossing from Weatherstone Ln to Bryan Park. I have almost been hit there several times by speeding cars and trucks. This is a primary route for cyclists, pedestrians, commuting students, and dog-walkers. Pedestrians and cyclists crossing Woodlawn anywhere between Hillside and Sheridan Ave risk injury and death by vehicles speeding up and down the blind hill. The stretch of Hillside between High and Henderson is dangerous for all modes of transportation - there is no safe place to make a left-hand turn from any intersection north or south, especially at rush hours. At least one or more signals and/or 4way stops are needed. Please don't wait for accidents to happen to address the problem. thank you
Just a suggestion, it would be helpful to have a crosswalk from Bloomington HS South from or around the faculty parking lot and or where the busses line up to a side walk. Currently, students are just crossing the street and it’s really unsafe.
7th and Dunn and 7th and Indiana have become absolutely terrifying since the bike lanes were installed. The main issue is on 7th and Dunn St: without a four way stop, it is very dangerous to travel on Dunn St. people do not check for bikes/scooters in their right-away lane, which leads to countless near accidents. I live on Dunn, and it often takes nearly 5 minutes to get out of this intersection, due to the heavy traffic which comes from the Indiana and 7th intersection. I have witnessed major accidents at both of these intersections. At 7th and Indiana, the stop line (on 7th) is so far back that cars on Indiana street cannot see the stopped cars on 7th until they themselves are stopped. This leads to confusion/road rage from the cars on Indiana when they think those traveling on 7th didn’t come to a complete stop. 4 way stop sign should be reinstated on 7th and Dunn Intersection, and something needs to be done to improve vision on 7th and Indiana.
Starting the 7th Street Bikeway project is great. I hope we have lots of low-traffic thoroughfares in twon some day. But finish what you started on Allen Street. There is no signs, no flashing beacons, no paint. Nothing that designates the street a low and slow traffic area. Cars drive way faster now with the "improvements" then they did with the hodgepodge pilot. Put some signs up. Paint the street. Put some flashers at the Washington St intersection and the Henderson St intersection. Allen is not finished.
Hello! At the intersection of 6th and Waldron in the Near West Neighborhood of Bloomington is a circular installment--a raised concrete circle with a planter in the middle, with hazard signs. It's very confusing whether motorists should treat this as a roundabout or a regular intersection (i.e. a two-way stop, as Waldron has stop signs). Recently I've had two near-accidents, as I treated it as a roundabout: traveling west along 6th street, I needed to turn south onto Waldron, so I went three-quarters around the "roundabout" to get onto Waldron. According to Street Division, whom I just called, this was the correct course of action. However, both times, a car traveling north along Waldron assumed that--since I had gone to the right of the installement--I was heading straight along 6th, so they tried to turn left onto 6th and nearly hit me as I rounded the "roundabout." Therefore, I would like to request signage that clarifies to all motorists whether this is a roundabout or not. Specifically, I think this should be a roundabout. The current hazard signs and construction only indicate that there is an object to be avoided--not how drivers should behave. Thank you for your time.
the 1700 blk of N Washington St is extremely difficult to drive on. constantly cars are parked on both sides of the street. there are no parking signs on the north bound side, but not on the south bound side. Also, is there a plan to place no parking signs in the 300 and 400 block on East 19th St? This area is also impassable throughout the day and night hours. Thank you.
