Greetings. We need moving violation enforcement and an increase in people who can do traffic law enforcement. Can someone in BPD as well as OOTM please read this article and consider how the City of Bloomington may work to make their streets actually safe and civil... Please take note of the quote about their goal. I think Bloomington needs to make the goal of public safety a top and most important priority! This is what the city of New Orleans is doing to help their police department with their staff shortages. 'They will have duties such as monitoring phone and online reports, issuing traffic citations, surveying major events like Mardi Gras and the Essence Festival and even doing some investigative work. Civilians would additionally be dispatched to calls that may not require an officer, such as collecting preliminary evidence, securing loose pets and responding to forgery, certain medical episodes and some thefts, New Orleans Police Superintendent Shaun Ferguson said last Thursday. 'The goal of all of this is to make our officers feel safe so that they can make our citizens and visitors feel safe,' Ferguson said. 'This is also to reduce some of the workload currently placed on our patrol and district personnel. But more importantly this is designed to reduce response time and address the backlogs in which we have in some of our districts.'" Please put a traffic circle at the intersection of N Smith Rd. and E 10th St. Waits can be interminable and with the hospital now on this side of town it’s getting worse. It looks to me like there is plenty of room for a circle.

Is there anyway the city can paint parking lines on 100 W. 8th street? Before the paved this road, there were lines and since they paved this I believe last year, the city has neglected to doing this causing vehicles at times to take up two spaces. This has been mainly an issue at night. Please look into this. Also, the blue curb for the handicap space is extremely faded and really needs to be repainted.

Traffic southbound on Jordan is always held up by people waiting for the left turn to go east on Atwater. Countless times I've seen that the light has already cycled to yellow by the time northbound traffic has cleared, and as a result cars have backed up all the way to third st. If the switching equipment allows jordan southbound to get green BEFORE jordan northbound, it will improve intersection throughput tremendously.

A south-facing speed limit sign on Union just north of 7th and a north-facing speed limit sign on Union just south of 10th incorrectly state the speed limit as 25mph. According to muni code 15.24.020, Union is 30mph from 3rd to Law.

4098 East 10th Street

I was traveling east on 10th St. and got into the right-hand turn lane (with turn signal on) to turn right/south on Smith Road. As I turned right, a car facing north on Smith Road turned left to head west on 10th St. and did not see an oncoming car and the eastbound car on 10th street had to brake quickly to avoid an accident...stopping within a few feet of the turning car. With the new traffic light at the Post Office intersection on 10th st, GPS is routing more people east/west on 10th street to/from Smith Rd and more locals are also using this route. This is turning an already dangerous intersection more dangerous. Turning left off smith onto 10th street requires timing to avoid a car coming east around the curve on east 10th street...and the same for turning left onto Smith off 10th street. Please consider a stop light at this intersection. Thank You.
