The stop sign at Allendale & Bainbridge is constantly driven thru without cars stopping. It’s frightening when we have so many kids in the neighborhood, & it is a school bus stop. With school starting again, it’s a concern. I’ve seen numerous cars just whip around a school bus there without hardly slowing down. I also think it would be really helpful to have speed bumps on Eeliston Dr., on the way to the park. We have so many pedestrians on the street, and no sidewalk.

Heading east on Third Street, there is a lane divider near the Big Red Liquor followed by a double yellow line however on MANY occasions cars try to turn left there which not only stops traffic but has the risk of accidents for people getting around them. I've seen yellow virtical 'posts' that are used to inhibit turning and wonder if that might be a solution.

A student reported to IU Police Dept. on Friday, 9/25, that the crosswalk on 10th Street in front of Psychology was not very visible. Although it has signs up, they felt the lines on the pavement were not very visible. Thanks Jill (IU Grounds Department).

7th and Dunn and 7th and Indiana have become absolutely terrifying since the bike lanes were installed. The main issue is on 7th and Dunn St: without a four way stop, it is very dangerous to travel on Dunn St. people do not check for bikes/scooters in their right-away lane, which leads to countless near accidents. I live on Dunn, and it often takes nearly 5 minutes to get out of this intersection, due to the heavy traffic which comes from the Indiana and 7th intersection. I have witnessed major accidents at both of these intersections. At 7th and Indiana, the stop line (on 7th) is so far back that cars on Indiana street cannot see the stopped cars on 7th until they themselves are stopped. This leads to confusion/road rage from the cars on Indiana when they think those traveling on 7th didn’t come to a complete stop. 4 way stop sign should be reinstated on 7th and Dunn Intersection, and something needs to be done to improve vision on 7th and Indiana.

Starting the 7th Street Bikeway project is great. I hope we have lots of low-traffic thoroughfares in twon some day. But finish what you started on Allen Street. There is no signs, no flashing beacons, no paint. Nothing that designates the street a low and slow traffic area. Cars drive way faster now with the "improvements" then they did with the hodgepodge pilot. Put some signs up. Paint the street. Put some flashers at the Washington St intersection and the Henderson St intersection. Allen is not finished.

In the alley adjacent to Bloomington Center for Global Children at 1111 North Walnut Street, traffic often travels both ways. As a parent who picks up a young child there, I am keenly aware of the danger presented by a two way alley adjacent to a child care center. I am requesting that this alley be made one way with traffic control as well, as the traffic traveling north on Walnut street presents another danger to those individuals turning west into the alley next to the center.

Between 4pm and 6pm traffic is usually backed up on Smith rd. If there was a left turn signal for however long or adjust the green on Smith rd an extra 20 seconds could also help during those time frame.

I am requesting that a speed bump and a flashing speed indicator be installed in a location along W Woodlawn Ave, somewhere between S Weatherstone Ln and E Wilson St. The speed limit on S Woodlawn Ave is 25 MPH, but the average vehicle's speed in front of my approximate address is closer to 45 MPH, with many vehicles regularly reaching speeds over 60 MPH and even 80 MPH at least daily. The reason why the speed limit is 25 MPH on S Woodlawn Ave is because of its proximity to Indiana University foot and bike commuters, Bryan Park, the Bryan Park Pool, a bus stop, and Union Elementary School. In addition to these elements, S Woodlawn Ave is also hilly which contributes to dangers associated with limited lines of sight between vehicles and pedestrians. Being a thoroughfare between Hillside Ave and streets north of it, traffic naturally flows faster than 25 MPH especially with the only stop sign between 1st St and Hillside Ave being at Sheridan Ave. Drivers frequently “floor” their vehicles through S Woodlawn Ave, and the police speed enforcement seems to never pull anyone over for speeding. For the above reasons, the current traffic pattern on S Woodlawn Ave is incompatible with its intended use. Installing a speed bump and a flashing speed indicator (for both northbound and southbound traffic) will hopefully greatly reduce thoroughfare excessive speeds. I am worried that this is a formula for someone to get hurt and it is only a matter of time unless the City does something about this. Please at least conduct a traffic study. Request for traffic barrier to be placed on Robinson Rd. There is a very steep valley directly off the road which is slightly curved. I fear for safety in the winter as a fall would result in fatality. If it is a possibility please call or email for a specific location. Thanks

Please designate turn lanes (even if it's just one lane) at the stop sign heading east on Covenanter Drive at Buick-Cadillac Blvd (and entrance to Kroger). It is hard enough when people in B'ton tend to lack a knowledge of 4-way stop laws, and the use of turn signals is inconsistent at best. Thanks!!
