Why does the city not enforce its rules on clearing snow from sidewalks, through fines? I understand that old people in residential areas can't always clear snow. But I'm talking about businesses. I tried to walk on the sidewalk up Walnut from HIlside to 2nd street today (1/27), it was not possible. There are a ton of businesses here who do not follow the rules, and it's a huge hazard because now we have to walk on the street itself, which is crazy busy. I mean you, Elkins Properties, I mean you, auto dealership, I mean you, Btown Smoketime, and even the post office! Why are these people not fined? The are businesses, cleaning the sidewalk it a part of doing business, they should be held accountable. Thank you for your attention

AT&T has two dead trees in front of its building. They have been dead so long one has splintered from rot and is now on the ground in numerous shards right next to the sidewalk.

Pavilion Properties building elevator permit expired on 10/15/2024. It has not been renewed as per Indiana DHS website (which is publicly accessible and can be accessed if you know the building's address) as of 11:21am on 12/23/2024. I checked it because the doors made loud clunking noises when traversing down, and I had to hit the button multiple times (or hit it extremely hard) in order for it to go up. It should be the apartment complex owner's responsibility to ensure permits are up to date - members of the public shouldn't have to remind them to do this.
[I am not a tenant of this building (hence why this is not under the "rental complaint" section), but my friend is, and I noticed that the permit posted in the elevator showed it was expired when I visited him recently. I checked the website to verify.]

Concern Regarding Unusual Activity and Property Conditions Next to My Business
Dear City Official,
Good Morning, I am reaching out to express my concern about some recent developments at the property located next to my business at 811 N Walnut St. Since new residents moved in, there has been a noticeable increase in unusual activity that is negatively impacting the appearance and environment around my business.
Specifically, the residents have been leaving trash overflowing into the alley, some of which is spilling over onto my property. This not only creates a messy and unsanitary environment but also makes a poor impression on my clients as they arrive at my business. Additionally, there are two cars at the property: one that does not appear to be running and another that is frequently being worked on. There are also cars frequently pulling up in the alley, where individuals from the house briefly interact with the vehicles before returning inside.
The overall condition of the property and the ongoing activity is concerning, and I would appreciate your assistance in addressing this issue. As a business owner, it is important to me that the surrounding environment reflects positively on the area, and I believe this situation is detracting from that.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. Please let me know if any additional information is needed.

I am curious if Bloomington has a service where I can report a rental company that does not act in accordance with state laws (no notice for rental showings) and public health regulations (my septic tank leaks into my back yard and they won't fix it). Is there a city service that can help me with these issues?
