A couple weeks ago cbu dug a hole at 11th&college and abandoned a sign in the bike lane on the south side of 11th just west of college. It moved to the sidewalk, and i reported it as blocking the sidewalk on april 5. Now it has disintegrated and moved back to the bike lane. Its black base is almost invisible at night and poses a mortal danger to cyclists. You wont like where i put it if you dont take care of ot within 24 hours.
NE corner of 17th&dunn. My kids are into riddle humor so maybe you'll enjoy this one: Q. What kind of licensed engineer puts a shared path to the right of a dedicated right turn lane where drivers don't even stop for a red light? A. The kind that ignores the MUTCD. Hahahahaha that's even funnier than the time my 4yo gave a long set up forthe punchline "buttcrack". But in all seriousness, the SE corner doesn't have a sidewalk connection for east/west peds and there are no painted crosswalks either. The MUTCD, bro, bible or nah?
abandoned utility work at west Smith and Howr. this cone and hanging wires and bad ground recovery has been here since spring. not sure which utility, but i think city regulates these matters.
Allen st greenway. Eastbound at walnut, the beg button is AWOL. It was too far from the roadway to be pushed by a cyclist anyways. The two-stage crossing (beg button in the refuge island) is worth nothing to me because I can only push it if my kids (trailer) are hanging out in the southbound traffic lanes. There is literally no traffic calming for northbound traffic on walnut here, which is still largely unwilling to yield even when the lights are in operation. The stop signs at Washington and Lincoln are facing the wrong direction. It is important to make allen inconvenient to drivers, but it is also essential to make it super convenient (and safe) for cyclists. The routes through bryan park suck for cyclists. Just reiterating a bunch of notes in case excellence ever becomes an interest of the city. Thanks!
