The car lanes all along 7th street this morning were completely clear, while the bike lanes were filled with a thick blanket of soggy, slippery leaves. A bike is infinitely more likely than a car to slip on leaves, so why would you prioritize cars and an appearance of tidiness for drivers over the safety of bikers and those around them?

The bike lane on 7th approaching the IMU is a real big problem. This afternoon is took me 20 minutes to go one block from 7th to IMU parking because there is NO MORE BUS lane. I think the bike lane needs to be removed. I was shocked at the slowness of the traffic. It also causes problems on the adjacent streets. This was not thought out clearly and needs to be fixed.

Longview was the best (or one of) greenways for biking, and really the only one from east side to downtown. But for probably two years now? the construction by Best Buy has clogged that up. When will that finally finish? I assume a construction requirement is that they make a nice Greenway for biking again? I'm concerned the traffic there will make it much more dangerous than it was so hoping the City has thought that complex/bike path through.

The bike lane near 250 S Washington St is constantly blocked with cars temporarily parked there. This is an established bike route home from campus/downtown to the Bryan Park neighborhood and I now constantly feel unsafe having to pull out into busy traffic to accommodate drivers of vehicles who are too lazy to find an actual parking place. This has been a chronic issue for months and I would appreciate if this stretch could be monitored/tickets given out, or some other solution so that I can once again feel safe as a bicycle commuter on that route.

I live in the highland village neighborhood on the same side of 3rd street as CVS, just across curry pike. I want to know why there are no walk signs on curry pike and 3rd st, making it nearly impossible to cross the road safely. I live a 6 minute walk from fresh thyme, yet have to drive there to feel safe. for a city that says it is trying to focus on walkability and sustainability, this is an enormous oversight. i demand walk signs on curry pike.

FYI, the only person complaining so far about speed bumps on the PRE greenway plans can easily have ZERO humps by taking Park Ridge Road home at minimally increased distance, or maximum ONE if taking Morningside.

Why haven’t you installed pedestrian crossing lines and signals yet? You’ve known about this for so long. I was nearly hit crossing with the light on foot just today. Cars in every direction had to adjust to seeing a pedestrian crossing, they all wanted to drive where I was crossing. Do something now! Tens of thousand of students are coming, always dangerous for pedestrians. Someone will get hurt with students never looking for people on foot when they’re trying to figure out where they’re going, turning, beating yellow lights, turning on red, etc. PLEASE!

Thanks for RayeAnn’s reply. I understand the street regulation completely, so do my neighbor. That is why he’s using this regulation to do illegal things. By legally park close to my property, he just walk over to take my mail without permission, sit in his pickup truck staking on me, threatening me. Any legal action for me to take to against this harassment caused by legal parking on public street?

I did, police’s reply is “it’s legal for him to park on the public street”. There’s nothing they can do, unless the regulation changes, most likely not in my lifetime. Thanks anyway, I guess I can only wish this guy will behave himself when he gets older.
