Restaurants on the north side of the 100 block of E Kirkwood are completely taking up the ENTIRE STREET. Pedestrians can still use the sidewalk, but what are bicycles supposed to do? Restaurant outdoor dining tables are curb to curb (and out of 35+ tables on a Sunday afternoon, exactly 1 table had customers.) It would be a lot better for private businesses to set up to SHARE the public street rather than make it impossible for bicycles to get through without taking a detour or dismounting.
There was a single white pillar added to the new bump outs on Allen Street. But the bump outs have not been planted or painted. There are new speed bumps but they are not painted nor are there signs. Is the allen st project ever going to be completed?
I'd like to request a crosswalk or something to make it safer/easier for pedestrians & bicyclists to cross Rogers over to the Switchyard Park.
I'd like to request a cross walk/light for the intersection of Rockport & Rogers. There are a couple there on other sides of the intersection but there isn't one for people wanting to cross Rogers on the north side of the intersection.
We need a trafic light for pedestrians to activate on the B-Line at 2nd street. Trafic rolls on through with out stopping. The signage is not effective.
The new litter boxes on Allen Street are great! All the cats in the neighborhood are using them to pee and poop. The soil is going to be so rich. I hope they never plant anything and just leave the litter boxes for the cats. I've seen 3 poop in the one on the south side of the street just today. Hurray!
I received a concern/complaint from Monroe County citizen Margaret Clements at mclements6@yahoo.com expressing concerns about ADA accessibility for the intersection of 1st Street and Walnut Street (quadrant unknown). I would recommend an evaliation of the intersection to determine the adequacy of all applicable ADA standards. Thank you. Pat Martin Planning & Transportation martipa@bloomngton.in.gov
The new bump outs on East Allen are incomplete and insufficient. Cars are zooming by kids walking and on bicycles. There needs to be brightly colored curb in addition to the tall reflective posts that were there before. Fix this quick before a kid gets hit!
There is a "cave in" on the sidepath along Monroe St. It is 45 inches in diameter and 17 inches deep. Looking through an opening you can see that it is hollow underneath. Stand alone pavement was supporting the weight of bicyclists and pedestrians before it caved in. This sidepath is on a long steep hill that Some cyclists are may descend at great speed. The "cave in" is hard to see by a cyclist approaching it. This is an extremely dangerous situation. Yellow cones should be placed around it as soon as possible.
