Drivers use intimidation tactics and put their foot on the gas while you are in the middle of trying to cross the street to force you to run instead of walk like a normal person
Drivers use intimidation tactics and put their foot on the gas while you are in the middle of trying to cross the street to force you to run instead of walk like a normal person
Drivers turn off and on to Grant Street even when pedestrians are using the crosswalk crosswalks are unsafe both on Grant and 3rd Street
Drivers are not stopping for pedestrians who have reached the crosswalk first or are already crossing and halfway in the middle of the road daily issue has always been an issue
Crosswalks at both Lincoln and Grant are treated as mere suggestions by drivers even when a pedestrian has arrived to the crosswalk first and or is already crossing and halfway in the middle of the road
At the intersection of W. Kirkwood and Maple Streets, where there is a crosswalk, the sign in the street telling cars to yield to pedestrians is on the verge. It looks like a car hit it. Right where there is a sign telling pedestrians to use the crosswalk to cross Kirkwood due to construction a little west. I noticed this on Monday, but it's in the same condition. This is a difficult intersection to cross and pedestrians need that sign. THANKS! See photo.
There is a missing brick on the B-line, leaving a depression that’s hard to see. I twisted my ankle on it while running today.
I was struck by a car June 2 about 8 a.m. as I was crossing 6th St on the B Line. I was about 3 steps into the intersection when it happened. A young man helped me up. I’m not ready to relive the event, so I won’t go into details now. My daughter came to take me to ER. I am getting much better and continuing to walk on the BLine with great caution. The intersection f 6th and the B Line is not marked well. Some days the pedestrian walking sign is in the middle of the street, some days not!!!! I’ve seen women with strollers walking across there without looking, bicyclists going across, kids on electric scooters… all thinking cars are suppose to stop, as has been the case for many years. Please do something about signage and white lines immediately before someone is killed.
The utility work along the Hinkle-Garton Farmsetead has routinely left gaping holes with little warning or no protection. Despite the lack of sidewalk, pedestrians still use this side of the road. This has been a broken leg waiting to happen. I have photos of 5-6 places over the last several weeks where this has happened
A pile of gravel collects here routinely
There is a piece of rebar sticking up out of the sidewalk along the Northside of Fairview Elementary School. My wife and I were walking to farmers market this past Saturday and she tripped on it, almost falling to the ground. This needs to be removed.
