I recently reported the fact that most of Washington has been kept in the dark at night for months. Tonight street lights finally came on, except, ironically, the one outside my building.Another light, between 8th and 9th was on but the glass cover seems filled by rubble. In general the lamps are and look old and neglected.
the old power lines supported by the street lights are getting weighted down by more and more hanging fratboy sneaker pairs. A few years ago one of the lines a little further down the block heavy with sneakers came down and started a fire.
The first street lamp on the left (#512) upon entering the alleyway between 8th St and 7th St from Indiana Ave is burnt out. It is located at the corner of the parking lot behind 307-309 Indiana and 512 7th St, near the dumpster.
Street light at corner of E Dixie and S Grant has been either really dim, flickering, or completely out.
There are two street lights in front of the building that are extremely dim. It seems that the bulbs are burnt out.
