There is a drain on my front lawn that does not appear to be working properly. In recent rains and snow there is a great deal of water flooding the front of the lawn and takes several days to go away. It pools over the drain. It did not use to do this. Please contact me. Thank you.
Thanks for sending someone out to check E Windermere Woods Dr...there was one (filled with dirt) storm sewer drain but based on what I'm seeing this morning, I wondered if both of them might be clogged down there on the segment from Covenanter north to rounding the bend up into the condo village. A supervisor checked it (thanks) and said someone would be out next week to clean it out. If they could make sure all drainage along that segment is working that would be great. Lots of standing muddy water down there this morning. Tried to submit a photo but I'm not sure it's going through. Appreciate you all!
There is some kind of water leak in the yard of the building on the corner of grant and Kirkwood. A new handicap spot was just given to the parking there, but water continuously flows down the sidewalk, which means that it turns to Ice in the winter. Not a great place to walk - especially if you are handicapped.
Not sure if this is correct department. My request concerns work done to reposition storm drains on the above-cited street. Thanks for improving all four drains. But several residents have noticed and are concerned about a deep hole in the green space located just a few feet directly East from the physical drain. I believe digging was done there as part of the drain improvement project. The deep hole must be filled in and seeded as it is a hazard to small dogs and to people. Please advise. I hope this hazard can be remedied.
The issue occured in Winslow Woods Creek during native habitat restoration in the creek running north to south between Aug 3, 2023 and Aug 4, 2023. The Urban Greenspace volunteer Weed Wrangle team were working in a dry creek on Thursday Aug 3 pulling Japanese stiltgrass between 8am to 10am. On our return Friday morning Aug 4, 8am to 10am, we found the creek saturated, pools of water in some areas, our pulled weeds banked in small dams, all indicating a flood had occurred during the 24 hour period. It did not rain during this period. I called CBU 812 339 1444, on Aug 4, at 1:44pm, to ask if a water main had been discharged during the time in question. No one has returned my call. Extremely strong Sewer smell, worse at night. Every night I drive through this area and am sick to my stomach for hours afterward. It has been like this for years. Something needs to be done to fix this issue.
Just wondering where all the water in front of twin lakes rec center is coming from. It’s been wet in front for at least 2 months, consistently every day, and we have had little rain. I drive through this every day and just wondered what was causing this?
The fire hydrant at the corner of Maxwell and Short Street (at the co-housing community) is pouring a lot of water.
The storm drain in front of my house at 2217 E. Wimbleton Ln. clogs multiple times with every rain storm. We unclog it as often as we can, and apparently some neighbors have been helping out when we are away, but we wonder if there is any better solution. It seems like it will be quite hazardous in the winter, since we aren't always available to unclog it.
Last week I had city utility workers digging holes in my yard looking for what they think might be a water main leak. I think there might be an underground stream. They patched my yard and laid straw, I now have after this weeks storm several large holes in my yard, some large enough to lose a medium size dog in. HELP!!!
