The northwest corner of our yard has been inundated with water for the past several weeks. There is standing water as well as super-saturated ground. The water appears to originate from the utility strip between properties toward Clover. This does not appear to be related to rain or storm events. The water drains to the south, but the amount present doesn't lessen. This makes us think there is a leak in either a water main or a storm drain or another source. The saturation leads to worries about the mature trees along the property line coming over. The ground is boggy and one cannot walk or mow in this area. Your attention to this will be appreciated.

Hello,
I reported water coming into our yard before.(uReport Case #177856) Your answer was that it was probably coming from neighbor's pool. That pool is to the southwest and they do indeed drain it into the yard, but it is not the source of water coming from uphill, close to properties on Clover on the northwest side of the yard. The water comes from somewhere close to 400 Clover Lane. As the property line and utility easement are wooded and covered with vegetation it is difficult to tell where the water originates, but it is clearly outside of our yard. I would be glad to discuss this and my concerns with you: 812-955-8220; or to meet with someone and show them where and what the problem is.
Thanks, Ginny Richey

Two large branches are blocking the opening for this Stormwater drain to Cascade Park. They are beginning to collect debris and make a total blockage. This is the major output for the entire cascades neighborhood and will cause severe flooding during heavy rain if not addressed ASAP.

There are no sewer drains for rain water. It all pools around my yard every time it rains. The road is worn down from trucks so the water just stays there for days eating away at my yard. I even see there's a line item on my water bill where I pay for run off water...why am I paying for it to just flood my yard? I've written about this once before because I also think a curb around my property would also help the problem.

There is a big abandoned pond at the end of 2511 N Dunn property. I believe this abandoned pond is the cause of a mosquito issue nearby neighborhoods including apartment complex next to that pond. Can city do something about it or at least investigate the issue? Thank you

A resident called about runoff "behind the AT&T store on Willis." He said that he attempted to call utilities about it multiple times but the woman answering the phones was not helpful and claimed that it was the OOTM's oversight and not theirs. He did not want to leave his name or contact information with us. I'm not sure what the process looks like for this, but if someone could check on the water runoff in this area, I think it would be helpful. We have received a few emails about it as well.

Thanks Kelsey,
The creek has been much clearer lately. I appreciate you following up. Usually when it is cloudy, it clears up in a day or two. I do watch it closely and will let you know, but unless you are able to get out right away, it may be difficult for you to see it when it is looking bad.
Good luck with your new job, my guess is you are real busy.
Mike

Mr. Horvath, the sediment in Jackson Creek at Rock Creek Drive may have been a result of construction in the watershed. There is one construction project upstream from your location that may have contributed sediment in the past, but according to our Planning Department who manages the grading permits, that site has since been stabilized. I was in the area last week and observed some utility work being done in the neighborhood, but can't say if that was what caused the sediment in the stream on 2/2/2019. I just began working for the City, so I apologize for my delayed response. If this happens again, please send in another report and I will be the one to answer it. Thank you,

On-going issue. Sediment buildup in open ditch south of storm sewer discharge pipe is impeding/stopping flow of storm water runoff in open ditch further downstream from where pipe daylights. Attached site plan clearly shows the pipe is not daylighting on our property as was concluded by CBU supervisor on previous ticket #169150. The centerline of the open ditch is approximately 15' off of our building wall and the site plan shows the property line at 11.08' from our building wall. The rainwater backup caused from the sediment buildup is back flowing into our drive/parking lot during rain events. I have other photos from several rain events that I can forward through email to provide evidence of the issue. If possible we'd like to meet a CBU supervisor on-site at their earliest convenience to discuss the issue.
